Travis Amezcua Joins the Hot Bodies Team

Event tough we wrote about Travis Amezcua joining HB already, we will mention it again because Hot Bodies have only now officially announced his arrival at the company and along with the announcement they have outlined his role at the company.

Travis will be spearheading the Hot Bodies team assault on 1/10th scale and 1/8th scale off-road events around the US, using the new D4 buggy, the 1/8th scale Lightning 2 Evo buggy and Lightning Stadium truggy. Travis brings with him the experience of 6 National Champion titles and 3 A-Main finals at the World Championships. His addition to the HB team is another great step forward for the HB team into the off-road classes. In addition to Team Supervisor, Travis will also be a key factor in the development and testing of Hot Bodies racing products, and provide input for future racing products. Look for Travis and the HB team at upcoming off-roads events!

Mike Blackstock signs to Team Br00d

Mike Blackstock signs to Team Br00d

Team Br00d have announced that they have signed up top US racer Mike Blackstock to run its motors and batteries. Debuting with his new sponsors at next weeks Reedy Race in California, Mike leaves behind a long and successful spell at Trinity to join the team that has already snapped up top racers like Ralph Burch and Chris Tosolini. Mike only recently signed to Corally after a spell with Xray.

In our never ending quest for domination, Team br00d has signed Mike Blackstock to run Team br00d Racing motors and batteries…..Mike will be making his debut with our products at the 2007 Reedy Race of Champions.

Yesterday we reported on the French EFRA GP from Auxerre in which Jerome Aigoin, driving for Kyosho took the win ahead of fellow French man Renaud Savoya for Mugen with Crono racer Davide Tortorici in 3rd. Jerome Aigoin wins French EFRA GP

Jerome Aigoin wins French EFRA GP

French Kyosho driver Jerome Aigoin has carried through his quick pace from qualifying into the main race, to win todays top final at the French EFRA GP, held at this years European Championship track in Auxerre. Jerome only lined up in 3rd position after a finishing 3rd in the fastest semi final but he had the pace when it mattered and could take the lead which he could extended to almost 1 lap, to win ahead of fellow French racer Renaud Savoya driving a Mugen. The final podium spot went to Italian Crono racer, and current Italian National Champion, Davide Tortorici who was only 5 seconds behind Savoya while the Mugen of Daniel Vega came home 4th. Pole position sitter after the semis was current European Champion Yannick Aigoin who came home 12th and was the only non finisher, running into trouble at 25 minutes, which ended his race.

French Kyosho racer Jerome Aigoin has taken the top qualifying spot for tomorrows main race at this weekends French EFRA GP in Auxerre. Aigoin led home a French domination of the top qualifying spots with the exception of Mugen racer Borja Hernandez of Spain who came home in 2nd position. Jeromes brother, current European Champion, Yannick Aigoin brought his Xray home in 3rd with the first of the French made Piktor buggys in 4th, driven by Sebasian Leonard.

French EFRA GP, Auxerre – Friday

French EFRA GP - Friday

This weekend sees the French EFRA GP for 1/8th scale buggies take place at this years European Championship track in Auxerre and so the event is seen as a warmup for this event and so has attracted the top drivers from around Europe. Controlled practice was done today and leading the timesheets from the start is current European Champion, Yannick Aigoin driving for Xray with Crono driver, and current Italian Champion, Davide Tortorici in 2nd position while team mate Jerome Sartel of France is in 3rd. Qualifying will be run tomorrow and we hope to bring you an end of day report, but in the meantime check out some videos from todays action below.

TecroTec were in contact to inform us that they have organized an international event in Zaragoza (Spain) with the collaboration of several important RC brands and with the confirmed attendance of top drivers like Adrien Bertin and Darren Johnson who also will give some talks about different topics. TecroTec is pleased to invite you at one of the most exciting events of the year in touring 200mm which takes place on the first weekend of June (1 Friday ~ 3 Sunday) on the Pinseque track (Adcaz club) located in Zaragoza, Spain.

Alessio Mazzeo wins 1/10th scale European B championships

Alessi Mazzeo wins 1/10th scale European B championships

Just a brief update to let you know that Serpent 720 driver Alessio Mazzeo has won the 2007 1/10th scale European B championships held in Roeselare, Belgium. The young Italian won by one lap after 45 minutes of action, having dropped down just behind Eric Dankel after a tire change, but the advantage of this change was enough that he could overhaul the German racer and regain the lead. Dankel took the 2nd place for Mugen in a very close battle with Rocco Ania of Italy driving a Team Magic G4s. We hope to have a full report later on in the day.
