Chris Grainger confirmed 2010 BRCA Champion

Chris Grainger confirmed 2010 BRCA Champion

It has been confirmed that Chris Grainger has won his second consecutive BRCA National Modified Championship with Schumacher and the Mi4LP. The BRCA have confirmed that no result in the final round at West London this weekend can affect Chris’ current series lead. Chris has 2 wins at Mendip and Aldershot this year backed up with 2 second places at Cotswolds and Halifax showing awesome consistency. With a best 3 races to count from 5 this can’t be beaten. The season so far has seen awesomely close battles between Chris, the Speed Passion powered car of Elliot Harper and fast charging Olly Jefferies, in what could be classed as the closest and most exciting season for many years. With the final round at West London remaining this coming weekend the rest of the Schumacher team are looking to add to their points. Currently 4 Mi4LP’s lie in the top 10 of the Modified Championship and an amazing 5 cars in the top 10 of the Pro Stock championship, with the overall title in that class still up for grabs.

Diatta Collymore joins GQ America

Diatta Collymore joins GQ America

TMA Motorsports and GQ America have announced the signing of Diatta Collymore to Team GQ Racing Tires for 2010 and 2011. Diatta, a young and very fast driver took a 6th place finish at the 2010 US Nationals in the 1:10th Nitro Sedan Class and with his TQ and win at the Region 1 Nitro On-Road Championships, Diatta has had a successful summer campaign. Diatta is now using GQ Tires on his Nitro and Electric cars.

I’m very happy to have GQ Tires and TMA Motorsports as my tire sponsor for the 2010-2011 racing season. After first trying them in the same shores I used to run from other brands on my nitro car, I felt an increase in traction and consistency. On top of that, the wear on my tires was minimal. I know we will be seeing some great results in the near future.

Mark Green wins Rd7 of British 200mm Nationals

Mark Green wins Rd7 of British 200mm Nationals

Kyle Branson sent us this report on the 7th round of the BRCA 1/10th scale national series that was held last weekend at Adur, just on the coast of Brighton under mostly dry conditions. On Saturday the traction was quite low at the start but got a little better during the day. My car wasnt too bad but there was room for improvement. Johnathan Dobney was the fastest at the end of the day with a 15.25 second lap with myself and Mark Green following closely. On Sunday the weather was to change, it was raining very lightly for a while and so the first two rounds were wet or damp which was never going to produce the TQ time as for sure it would dry. In the third round it was Mark who took TQ ahead of Johnathan in second and John Zottl in third. I made a mistake and pulled the wishbone out. In the fourth round It was John Zottl who took TQ ahead of Matthew Cook and Joe Kerry in second. After a couple of minutes the pin fell out of my wishbone ending my last run but I still managed to get 9th from a dampish run and a place in the A-main. In the final Mark was leading, with John Zottl in second and myself following closely in third. John and I had a coming together causing trouble for both of us. Neal King was not too far behind and drove a good race to come second behind Mark with Adam Catchpole taking third. The last race of the season will be at Colchester in a few weeks.

Thanks to Kyle Branson for the report.
