Mark Green wins BRCA 200mm Nats Rd2

Last weekend saw the 3rd round of the British 1/10th gas Nationals take place in Halifax and current national champion Kyle Branson sent us the following report. The weather was good on Saturday with temperatures around 26 degrees, The track had good traction to start with and gradually improved through the day, My car was good at the start but i gradually got understeer and so did Mark Green but he had it worse than me, we seemed to be the only drivers suffering with it, we tried a lot of things but for some reason we couldn’t get the steering back, although the car was still pretty fast by the end of Saturday. On Sunday the car felt better in the first run in the morning but I suffered with a little oversteer which was strange as it had changed from the day before, Mark made some changes in the morning and had made a big improvement in his car. I was TQ in the first qualifying ahead of Mark, in the second Mark got TQ just a second ahead of me in second place and in the final round I managed to improve by just about half a second, this put me one second behind Mark.

German Nationals 4WD Warm-up report

German Nationals 4WD Warm-up report

Last weekend the warm-up race for the German 4WD electric off-road nationals took place on a 1/8 nitro buggy track near Berlin. A total of 25 drivers made it to the challenging track of the RoadRunner-Berlin club . This was quite a low outcome for this otherwise highly competitive class but it seems like it was a result of the bank holiday weekend. With 17 drivers in total the 4WD Modified class contained the most action and was won by Team Durango driver Andre Welker who switched to the DEX410 only days before the race. Second place went to very young Tim Walther (Team Durango DEX410) with Chris Kamman (Team Associated B44) in 3rd. The B-final was won by Hamburg-based Markus Bauer (Team Durango DEX410). The 4WD Stock class went to Eberhard ‘Ebi’ Beck with Alexander Matschuck and Dietmar Spieß (all Team Durango DEX410) in second and third place respectively.

Mark Christopher wins Halifax BRCA Sports GT round

Mark Christopher wins Halifax BRCA Sports GT round

Mark Christopher took a convincing FTD at the recent UK nationals shattering the existing track record at Halifax for the Sports GT class. His Team Dremel UK, Xray NT1 powered by Novarossi was the only car in the class to make the previously elusive 19 laps, which was achieved in each of the three qualifying runs. Mark also went on to win the final by two laps over fellow Team mate Richard Boult, both running Knack racing 220mm conversions on their NT1’s. The 220mm cars are increasing in popularity in the UK Nationals.

Mark Green continues winning form at BRCA Rd2

Mark Green continues winning form at BRCA Rd2

The second round of this years BRCA 1/8th circuit national championship was located at the famous Wombwell circuit, which is part of a large Karting complex. This track is loved by all the drivers since it contains a combination of slow and fast flowing corners which is a joy to drive when driven on the edge. The weather forecast did not look too good for Sunday, but thankfully it was a dry weekend. With time restrictions in place due to the noise levels, the Committee decided to run open practice with a lunch break. This made the track at times very congested with a lot of fast cars easily catching up the slower cars and damage was inevitable.
