Grainger secures title with Rd4 victory

The Snetterton circuit in Norfolk hosted round four of this years BRCA touring car championship, the meeting was held in glorious sunshine and saw victory for Chris Grainger and in winning the meeting Chris secured the 2009 BRCA national title. Qualifying was all about tyre management with the Snetterton track giving its best time on new rubber, the drop off on second run tyres was very noticeable, so it was important to put in a clean run when you had new tyres fitted. Chris Grainger dominated the early stages of qualifying with his Schumacher Mi4, Olly Jefferies kept Chris on his toes finishing second in every round of qualifying during the Saturday runs, Andy Moore and Elliott Harper struggled on day one but improved their cars overnight.

Brandon Melton wins Pro buggy class at the Carolina Nats

Over the weekend of August 7-9 JConcepts drivers Brandon Melton, Chris Pace, Barry Pettit, and Greg Smith attended the Carolina Nationals at Charlotte Motorsports Park, previously The Farm 2 and JConcepts sent us the following report. The track still remains as the same configuration from the Worlds track, however it’s ran in reverse with many changes to jumps and new additions. The new direction and facelift was a refreshing treat and many drivers commented on the track being very fun but challenging to drive. The stories of the week were the heat (near 100 degree temps all weekend) and a local charity on site called Hometown Heroes. A local Texas Roadhouse restaurant came on site and was grilling burgers, ribs, and steaks, and all sales from food went to the local charity that provides for local terminally ill kids.

Rombouts makes it 3 in a row at Dutch 10th Nats

Rombouts makes it 3 in a row at Dutch 10th Nats

Round 4 of the Dutch 1/10th scale 200mm Nationals took place last weekend at the Groningen track, in the very North of the country. Qualifying for the NK class went the way of the winner of the previous 2 rounds Pedro Rombouts, with Maarten van Lierop, Daan Jacobs and Sander Borghoff completing the top 4. The Nomac class saw the TQ go to Marc Meijer while in the 1/8th Promo series it was Luigi Pili on top. At the beginning of the NK final Pedro lost the lead and saw Maarten take the lead, a place he held until close to the end of the race. With the top 3 of van Lierop, Jacobs and Rombouts running only meters apart with 8 minutes to go, Pedro made a mistake, but then Daan would have tire problems, something Maarten would also suffer from. With 2 laps to go Maarten had a collision with a back marker and lost the lead to Pedro, who would cruise the final lap to take his 3rd win in a row. Maarten van Lierop would hold onto 2nd with Jurgen Geerligs taking 3rd spot away from Jacobs. The Nomac class was won by Davy Geraets from Theun Zoethout in 2nd and Michael Behnert in 3rd, while the Promo series win went the way of pole man Luigi Pili, with Ron Veger taking 2nd and Alfred van Dijk 3rd.
