Yannick Aigoin takes Rd3 of French Nats

The 3rd round of the French 1/8th scale buggy Nationals took place this weekend at the Reims circuit in the North of France. The event was dominated by Yannick Aigoin, the current European Champion set the fastest time in qualifying driving his RB powered Xray while the Mugen pairing of Guilliame Vray and Renaud Savoya were 2nd and 3rd fastest respectively. After the semis it was in fact Savoya that had claimed the number 1 starting spot ahead of Yannick in 2nd, with Crono racer and round 2 winner Jerome Sartel starting from 3rd. The race itself was a close run thing with Yannick Aigoin finally claiming the win, a few seconds up on 2nd placed Sartel, while French EFRA GP winner Jerome Aigoin ended the event in 3rd for Kyosho.

Hakansson wins Swedish Nitro Series

Another report from Xray, this time its from last weekends Swedish Nitro Series and Swedish Cup, both events run on the same weekend at the high-speed track in Ã–rebro. Once again rain played a role in the outcome of the event with a short downpour before the main SNS final causing drivers to change setups and adjust strategies. At the beginning of the final there was some initial chaos but after a couple of laps it settled down and Xray driver Niklas Hakansson pulled away to a clear victory with 4 laps in front of 2nd placed Serpent driver Christoffer Hallborg with another Xray of Brandt Mikael in 3rd.

Indonesian EP 1/10 Nationals Rd1

Xray are reporting on the 1st round of the Indonesian Electric Touring car Nationals that took place last weekend at the 1/8 scale super track in BSD city area. In qualifying Xray racer Yung Yung showed great racing skills by taking the TQ spot in rubber, while team mate Didi took TQ in foam and second spot on the grid in rubber.

Unfortunately the weather was not cooperative and it was raining lightly right before the mains. Racers and organizers decided to run the finals before the track became too wet. Right after the first leg of the A-final foam tire, the rain poured heavily and the organizer had to void the result for the final, and therefore the results from the qualifications counted.

Torkildsen takes Rd1 of Norwegian Champs

Another report from Xray, this time from the first round of the 1/8th TT Norwegian National Championships that were held last weekend. Xray driver Morten Thorkildsen won his semi final to take the number 1 spot for the final where he was able to pull away and stretch out a lead and despite running out of fuel 100 meters before the end, could take the win in front of Losi 8ight racer Viggo Andreassen in 2nd and Kyosho racer Rune Karlsen in 3rd.

Robert Pietsch wins German South Rd3

German South Rd3

Robert Pietsch continues to win in the South of Germany as the 3rd round of the regional championships took place last weekend in Rosenheim. Qualifying on Saturday and Sunday resulted in Robert Pietsch taking the TQ spot on his home track with Thomas GÃ¼nsel in 2nd and Sebastian Feller in 3rd, all 3 drivers racing the Xray NT1. At the start of the main final, Robert took off into the lead leaving GÃ¼nsel and Feller to battle it out for the 2nd step on the podium, eventually being decided when Feller had a coming together with another car, dropping him back, but still managed to recover to 3rd behind the winner Pietsch and 2nd placed GÃ¼nsel.

Michal Bok wins Rd2 of Czech Nats

Xray have a report from last weekends 2nd round of the Czech Nationals that were run on the small but technical Blansko track. In qualifying it was Martin KoÅ™Ãnek that took the top spot, heading an Xray NT1 lock out of the top 4 with Martin Bayer in 2nd, Michal Bok in 3rd and Martin Pater in 4th. In the race, after some confusion at the start, pole man KoÅ™Ãnek was the first retirement with engine trouble, which left Michal Bok to take the win from Martin Pater and Martin Bayer in 2nd and 3rd respectively.

Danish Off-Road Nationals Rd2

Last weekend saw the second round of the Danish 1/10 EP Off-Road championship take place at the RC Minirace track in Odense. The 2WD class was dominated by guest star, former European Champion Jonas Kaerup, who took the pole position after qualifying and went on to win 2 of the 3 finals to take the overall win, with 2nd place going to Lars Alex Jensen while in 3rd position was Christer Rasmussen. In the 4WD class it was Yokomo driver Palle Hornum who was the man to beat winning 2 finals for the overall ahead of Losi driver Kim Nielsen in 2nd position while Ulrich Rasmussen put his Kyosho into 3rd place. In the stock class the man to beat was local youngster Jesper Rasmussen.

Steffen Culmsee wins Rd2 Danish TT Nats

Last weekend saw the 2nd round of the Danish championship held at the SOS track south of Copenhagen. Qualifying saw Xray racer Peter Harder take the top spot while Hong Nor racer Tim Culmsee lined up 2nd with his brother CEN driver Steffen Culmsee ending up in 3rd. The final saw a close fight between Steffen and Peter for the full 30 minutes with Tim only 5 secinds behind until his engine flamed out dropping him back and giving Steffen the chance to shake Peter of. Pushing hard the CEN driver could break away and take the win, with Peter Harder dropping back to 3rd in the closing stages, allowing Kyosho racer Lars Alex up to 2nd.
