Riccardo Berton successful at Novarossi Trophy

The 2016 Novarossi Trophy was held at the pista Ospy Team di Gussago track in Gussago, Brescia over the weekend with some of the fastest Italian Nitro Off-road drivers in attendance. Kyosho’s Riccardo Berton was in control of things all weekend, taking the TQ and win in the Expert Buggy class from Mugen’s Davide Ongaro. Newly crowned 1/8th European Champion, Elliott Boots (Kyosh0) had to settle for third in the 45-minute A-main. Mattia Polito and Marco Natale would round out the top 5 result.

Thilo Tödtmann wins at Central German regionals

A round of the Central German Nitro On-road regionals, the qualifying series for the German Nationals, was held this past weekend at the MC Ettlingen track. In the 1/10th 200mm class Shepherd’s Dirk Wischnewski would take a close TQ from Capricorn driver Thilo Tödtmann while Rene Püpke (Shepherd) completed the top 3 result after the qualifiers. The main final then saw a close fight between Dirk and Thilo with the better end for Thilo as Dirk had to pull out of the race some 5 minutes before the end. Up front Thilo brought home the win some two laps in front of Shepherd’s own Patrick Schäfer while Jannick Namyslo (Xray) rounded out the top 3 result.

South German On-road Championship finale – Report

South German On-road Championship finale – Report

The final round of the South German On-road Championship was held in Singen, host of the German National Championships in a couple of weeks time. In the Touring Modified class, Tim Wahl made a clean sweep to take the TQ while also scoring the fastest lap. Markus Wegmann lined up in second from Florian Fink and Antonios Theofilou.

QC Race Hong Kong Rd2 – Report

Round 2 of the GQ Race Hong Kong was hosted the ACO Racing Track. The race was held in several on-road classes including Touring Modified, Touring 13.5T Blinky GT, 13.5T Blinky Racing Truck and also a Carisma RTR 13.5T Blinky Stock class. In the Modified class, that attracted a total of 30 entries, it was Chau Man who took the day’s win from Chi Fung and Ricky Wong in second and third respectively.

Georgiadis doubles at Greek Fanatix Race

The Fanatix Race was recently held at the Fanatix racing track in Greece. The event saw 1/10th Touring Modified, Touring Stock, Formula and Nitro Stock racing and in the Touring Modified class it was the Xray duo of Georgiadis and Papachristos who battled for the overall TQ with the better end for Georgiadis who would ultimately grab the pole position for the finals. Papachristos had to settle for second while Yokomo driver Amaxas rounded out the qualifying top 3.

Leo Arnold wins at French 1/8th On-road Nats Rd4

Round four of the French 1/8th Nitro On-road Nationals was held in La Ferriere in Western France. The narrow track in combination with a fast yet technical layout made for challenging conditions and in the qualifiers it was Anthony Abisset who came out on top from Arnaud Mathieu, local driver Benjamin Brasset and Leo Arnold. In the semis, Leo took the win in the semi B while Anthony Abisset won the semi A, with the faster time handing Leo the pole position for the main final.

BRCA Truggy & E-Buggy Nationals Rd4 – Report

The fourth round of the BRCA Truggy and E-Buggy Series took place at a new venue for the BRCA calendar, at Pembrey Race Circuit in South Wales. The model car track is on the site of the full size racetrack and despite being a relatively new venue, offered plenty of challenges for the drivers, who in the most part really enjoyed the track and its layout. The track itself features some very hard packed sections, some loose sections and has astro turf laid over the jumps to help keep them together, but it was the morning rain that was more of a concern. The weather was doing its best to put a downer on things but the drivers remained in high spirits and were enjoying the track nonetheless.

Ahn & Moon win at Tamiya Korea Cup

The recent Tamiya Korea Cup, held in the Kim-hae region, saw Schumacher driver Jung Hyun Ahn walking away with the win from Tae Sung Moon (Xray) in second and Chul Yung Yeon (Xray) in third. In the 4WD class it was Tae Sung Moon (Xray) who took the day’s win from Serpent driver Seung Min Kim and Xray’s Chul Yung Yeon.
