Simon Kurzbuch wins Swiss 1/8th On-road Nats Rd5

Simon Kurzbuch has claimed another victory this year by winning at the 5th round of the Swiss 1/8th Nitro On-road Nationals. Starting the main final from the pole-position he pulled away right from the beginning. In a perfect race he never looked back and crossed the finishing line 3 laps in front of Mattia Pesenti with Christophe Pethoud completing the podium another lap down. With this result Simon is in a comfortable lead in the championship ranking and he has the best chances to claim the national title at the final round held in Lostallo.

Argentinian Off-road Nationals Rd2 – Report

The second round of the Argentinian 1/8th Off-road National Championship was held at the Colonia Caroya track in Cordoba in several 1/8th nitro buggy and truggy categories. In the 45-minute main final of the Buggy Pro class Agustin Cutini (Mugen/Novarossi) came out successful from Sebastian Recia (Mugen/Novarossi) in second and Federico Davico (TLR/Reds Racing) in third place.

Mara & Novotny win at Czech Buggy Nats Rd3

Round three of the Czech 1/8th Buggy Nationals was held at the RC Club Radotin track in Prague. In the Nitro Buggy class Jiri Mara (Serpent) took the win from Karel Novotny (Team Durango) and Max Götzek (Xray), who made a last lap move to secure himself the final podium spot. Elsewhere in the E-Buggy class Karel Novotny (Team Durango) grabbed the win from Ales Bidovsky (TLR) while Max Götzel scored his second third place finish of the day to round out the podium.

Rene Kjellerup wins at Danish IC Track Nationals Rd4

The 4th round of the Danish Nitro On-road Nationals was held in Naestved, Zealand, around 100 kilometres from Copenhagen. During Saturday’s qualifying local hero Martin NO. Hansen was flying round his home track and Ramus B. Nielsen did the best he could to follow but he made some mistakes and went off of the track. Another fast guy, Claus Ryeskov, stayed concentrated and was able to grab the 2 spot after qualifying while Rasmus made it to third in the 1/10th 200mm class.

Ashlee Owen wins UK North West nitro race

The UK’s North West saw a nitro off-road race near Blackpool held recently with the part grass, part dirt track being very bumpy and challenging. Ashlee Owen (Xray) took the TQ despite being seeded in a lower heat with traffic issues. On the start of the main Ashlee made one minor mistake on the first lap through the rhythm section but he quickly made a move on lap 2 to regain the first spot, holding a sizeable lead until the end. Team mate Richard Greenough (Xray) came in second, Lewis Rushton (Agama) rounded out the podium in third.

2015 Futaba Electric Challenge – Report

The 2015 Futaba Electric Challenge held at Leisure Hours Raceway in Joliet, IL is a unique event where the racers run indoor on Saturday and outdoor on Sunday, then combining the two scores from each day to determine a winner. Racers from all over the Midwest were in attendance and after the dust settled, the father-son-son Hornes trio out of Michigan swapped the 1-2-3 spots on both days in 2WD Modified Buggy, only to end in a three-way tie for the overall championship. Winning the tiebreaker, Aydin Horne finished first, with Austin Horne in second, leaving Al Horne to finish behind both kids in third.

Karl Jackson appointed TLR 1/8th UK team manager

Horizon Hobby have announced Karl Jackson as the new UK TLR 1/8 rallycross team manager. Karl’s new role makes him responsible for the TLR UK 1/8th team and in his new role, he will manage team communications, technical issues and team development. With over 20 years racing experience and a long relationship with TLR, Karl has been an important ambassador for Team Losi Racing within the R/C racing community. Karl will be instrumental in driving a new push to revitalise the 1/8th rallycross team within the UK, including actively pursuing new team drivers.

Lars Erik Mo takes Norwegian 1/8th Buggy title

The 2015 Norwegian 1/8th Offroad Championship was hosted by the OMBK club in Oslo. 40 of Norway’s fastest drivers showed up to fight for the title and after the 45 minutes long final on a challenging track it was Lars Erik Mo who secured his second national title in front of TQ holder Björn Ivar Haug in second and Rune Karlsen in third.
