Hobbywing welcome Davide Ongaro to their team

Continuing with the new electronic sponsors for Davide Ongaro, Hobbywing have also announced that the young Italian will join their team from 2021. He will use Hobbywing ESCs and motors to participate in all electric car competitions. After winning the 1/8th offroad World Championships for the first time in 2018, he won an impressive second place on his debut in the 1/10th scale Worlds in 2019. Davide has the following to say

I’m so excited to be part of Hobbywing team, it’s a great team managed by great people. Be a teammate with other champions, it’s one of the most beautiful things. Recently I tested the new 1/8th brushless system being developed by HW, it was amazing!. I will do my best and thanks to all Hobbywing crew for giving me this opportunity.

Davide Ongaro joins Sunpadow Factory team

Sunpadow have signed current IFMAR 1/8th offroad World Champion Davide Ongaro to their factory team. Starting from 2021, the Italian will use Sunpadow LiPo batteries to participate in various competitions and assist Sunpadow in product development and testing. Davide said ‘joining Sunpadow team for me is a dream comes true, have the possibility to be in a team with a lot of champions, I’m looking forward to make good result and I will do my best for sure.’

Pilot RC B74.1 lightweight ring gear set

Pilot RC have unveiled their latest offering, this B74 series lightweight ring gear set. Having begun working on this product back in June 2020, after overcoming several design and production challenges, they managed create a super light, durable, true spinning ring gear for the B74.1. Designed for the 13.5 spec class racing on a dirt surface, the gear set deletes 18.6 grams of rotational mass. Benefits of the gear set include faster acceleration, cooler motor temperatures, better handling on the track and more. Already showing results on the track at the 2021 CRCRC Winter Midwest Championships in the car of TQ and race winner Matthew Gonzales

Jacob Cruz joins Mugen Seiki Racing

Mugen Seiki Racing have announced that Jacob Cruz has joined their team. Jacob will be focusing on the new MTC2 1/10th electric touring car as well as the World Champion MRX6X platforms for 2021 and beyond. Mugen Seiki Racing is excited to be working with Jacob and his father Marc Cruz, with Jacob saying ‘I would like to thank Mugen Seiki USA for this great opportunity to be part of their racing family. HotRace tyres sign Ty Tessmann

More Ty Tessmann news as HotRace tyres have announced the signing of 2014 IFMAR 1/8th Nitro Buggy champion to their team. The former Pro-Line driver will run the Italian brand’s products at all events around the world and will also assist with product development.

Ty Tessmann powered by FX Engines

FX Engines have announced that Ty Tessmann will be running their engines. As one of the world’s top off-road drivers, Ty has captured multiple US ROAR Championships and an IFMAR World Championship, and FX is thrilled to welcome Ty to the FX team. On the deal Ty Tessmann said:

I am excited to be running the FX engines, these engines are produced with the same high quality and attention to detail that everything the Hudy family makes has. During my time testing I was very impressed with the performance and the feel of the engines, with an amazing linear power band that suits my driving perfectly, I know these engines will be a great fit for me. I know that Juraj Hudy and Martin Bayer have worked very hard to make the FX engines the best there is and I will do my best to showcase what these engines are capable of.

2021 Desert Classic – Announcement

Hobby Action in Chandler, Arizona have announced the date for the 2021 Desert Classic which will be held from the 4th to the 7th of March. Entries are open from the 16th of this month and the race will be open to all the usual classes. Masks must be worn and pitting is outside.

Oliver Mack returns to Team Shepherd

Team Shepherd have announced the return of former 1/8 On-Road European Champion and multiple German champion Oliver Mack. Back in 2015 Oliver took his maiden European Championship A title running for Shepherd and now he is eager to restart the cooperation with the German manufacturer. Oliver plans to attend local races as well selected international events like the European Championship and ENS races. Oliver had the following to say:

I’m very excited to return to Shepherd and I’m looking forward to cooperate again with such a professional team. Thanks to Patrick and the whole Shepherd family for this opportunity.
