Maclan Racing MR8.2 1/8 sensored brushless motor

Maclan Racing have announced the new MR8.2 1/8 brushless series of motors. The MR8.2’s new design is set to deliver balanced power and smoothness thanks to a combination of a 12-slot stator with a strong, staggered 4-pole, 8-magnet rotor that is constructed to be smooth and powerful while increasing durability. An all-new error-free sensor unit design with separate sensor magnet will minimise the signal noise the often can damage speed controllers. The series will include 1500kv, 1950kv, and 2150kv buggy style motors as well as a dedicated 2100kv truggy variant.

RC Prostyle X1 2.25mm carbon fibre chassis

Coming from RC Prostyle is a 2.25mm carbon fibre chassis set for the Xray X1 formula car. Constructed from high-grade U.S. made carbon fibre the chassis was designed especially for asphalt racing in medium to high-grip conditions. The super-narrow design and raised side links increase ground clearance during cornering which results in less scrubbing and improved corner speed. Included come two types of link plates, one for the standard Xray links and one for shorter 65mm links such as the ones used by Roche or Yokomo – using the shorter links will help gain on-power steering. Included in the set are the chassis, rear pod plate, side link plates as well as mounting hardware.

2017 Benelux Electric On-road race – Report

The annual Benelux 1/10th scale electric race was held this past weekend at the fast track of Rucphen in the Netherlands. Free practice on Friday took place in ideal weather conditions with track temperatures exceeding 35 degree Celsius. The weather forecast for the weekend wasn’t so good though and this lead to several last-minute withdrawals. Nevertheless a good amount of drivers turned up to attend in the four classes of Touring Modified, Touring Stock 13.5T, Formula and Pro10 10.5T. In Touring Modified, Mitchell Van Es, one of contenders for the overall victory in the modified class, had a glitch on the main straight and crashed his Awesomatix at full speed into the barriers. This meant that the young Dutch driver had to defend his chances with his old Yokomo.
