Yokomo YZ-2DTM Ryan Maifield edition 2WD buggy

Yokomo have introduced the new YZ-2DTM Ryan Maifield edition 2WD buggy kit. Based off of the “dirt specific” YZ-2DT, the kit however utilises a laydown transmission as found in the carpet kit to better suit today’s high-grip dirt tracks. Additionally the DTM comes with a new rear shock tower brace, it features height adjustable rear hub carriers with fine 0.5mm increments,  and it comes with new high-grip specific steering hub carriers. The kit is rounded out by updated ball ends for smoother and more reliable operation and it includes a JConcepts S2 bodyshell and Aero rear wing. The kit will become available by beginning of April.

Procircuit Addictive 1/8th buggy tyre

Modelix Racing have introduced the new Addictive 1/8th buggy tyre. Designed especially for racing on tracks with an abrasive surface, the dense tread will also offer exceptional durability and wear characteristics in hard-packed and polished conditions or when a dust layer makes for excessive wheel spin. The tyre is available pre-glued on yellow dish wheels and in P1 super-soft white, P2 soft yellow and P3 medium orange compounds, including the new XL insert for improved overall performance and a more consistent handling.

Maifield takes historic triple DNC win

The 18th annual The Dirt Nitro Challenge was held this past weekend at Fear Farm R/C Raceway in Phoenix, Arizona. Considered to be the biggest RC event in the World, combining three races together, the 2017 edition again attracted racers from all corners of the world to participate. This year’s layout was perhaps the hardest track layout ever created in the 18 years of the DNC as it featured everything you cold possibly think of. Kyosho’s Jared Tebo commented that it was, “The gnarliest track he’s ever raced on … period”. The Dirt crew outdid themselves this year by making a track without a full straightaway and replacing it with the most difficult section of all time – the 9 pack triple section.

LRP FlowX Offroad brushless speed controller

Following the introduction of the FlowX TC Spec speed controller LRP now also released information on the FlowX Offroad. Built using the same all-new hardware, the Offroad spec controller comes with a longer receiver lead than the TC Spec for easier mounting in 4WD vehicles while also sporting the new v3.1 firmware with off-road specific features such as the BDX-O brake. New timing features ensure improved drivability in demanding track conditions and increased top speed when needed. The ESC comes including hardware to mount optional fan units, with a 200mm sensor wire and it supports LRP’s external programming device that is scheduled for a later date.

Kyle McBride takes double ACT State Titles

The 2017 ACT State Titles were held in Canberra, Australia this past weekend. Team Associated/Novarossi factory driver, Kyle McBride would take the win in both the Nitro Buggy and Nitro Truggy mains to bring home another double title.

Team Magic E5-series anti-roll bar kit

HRC Distribution have introduced a Team Magic anti-roll bar kit for the E5 series of monster trucks. Usable on the front or the rear of the truck the set will improve stability in corners on medium to high-bite surfaces and it includes all needed mounting hardware. The set is usable on the E5 and E5 HX and it is available now.

Alex Kaewjunan wins at New RC club race Rd2

New RC track in Thailand recently held their second club race and in the 1/8th Nitro Buggy class it was Alex Kaewjunan who took the overall TQ after the qualifiers. At the start of the 45-minute A-main, Alex jumped into the lead and he never looked back to take the win one lap ahead of Mongkolphan L. with Meen V. completing the podium result in third, another lap down.

Thomas Musso successful at French 1/8 E-buggy opener

The opening round of the French 1/8th E-buggy nationals was held at the indoor facility in Reims this past weekend. HB Racing’s Thomas Musso would come out successful after the A-main from Xray’s Jean-Pierrick Sartel in second and TLR’s Jerome Sartel in third. Vincent Meertens (TLR) and Stephane Deroch (Mugen) would round out the top 5 result.
