Jean Michel Varinard wins at French EP On-road finale

The final round of the French Electric On-road Nationals was held in Thionville with the weather conditions being nice but a bit tricky. Cold nights and hot days made for changing track conditions with some “hidden” bumps on the track adding up to the mix. In the Formula class Jean Michel Varinard would end the day on the top spot with newly crowned champion, Jeremy Limoges in second place. Frederic Favier would round out the all-Xray podium in third.

T-Works RX8'16 titanium hinge pins

T-Works have introduce a range of titanium hinge pins for the Xray RX8’16 1/8th scale nitro on-road car. Made from high-quality 64-grade material the suspension pins are available for all parts of the chassis including the upper and lower front arms, the upper and lower rear arms, the rear body bar, front and rear axles and also as rear solid axle pins. All shafts come in sets of two with a 15-piece full-combo kit also being available. As usual titanium parts will offer a lower weight than standard steel shafts while being highly corrosion-resistant and durable.

ProTek R/C turbo glow plugs

ProTek have introduced a new line of turbo glow plugs. Available in T3 ultra hot, T4 hot and T5 medium variants the glow plugs are tough and durable and they are perfectly suited for 1/8th scale race vehicles that use .21 to .28 size engines but they are also meant to be a viable option for .12 to .18 sized engines. The plugs are good for the use with a 10 percent to 35 percent nitro content.

Xray Racing Series Greece Rd1 – Report

The opening round of this year’s Xray Racing Series Greece was held at the Fanatix Racing Track. Nice summer temperatures and a friendly atmosphere made for a good day of racing in several on-road classes. In Touring Modified Batas would lead an all-Xray podium with Velaoras and Diamantis completing the top 3 result.

Jacques Libar wins at TOS Central Division Rd1

The opening round of the German central division Tonisport Onroad Series was held in Rüsselsheim over the weekend. In the Formula class Jacques Libar swept the qualifiers to take the overall TQ from Florian Schimm, who scored a single round TQ and third placed Ulf Bohlender. In the triple A-mains Jacques again laid down some commanding drives to score the day’s win from from Ulf and Florian who had to settle for second and third respectively.

James Wright joins MD Racing

James Wright joins MD Racing

MD Racing have announced the signing of BRCA 1/5th scale on-road champion, James Wright to their team. At just sixteen years of age, James has amassed an extensive knowledge of RC and success in his relatively short RC career of just six years. His campaign will include the upcoming BRCA Indoor National Championships, the 2017 Outdoor BRCA National Championships and also mid-season regional series and club days. James has the following to say about the deal:

T-Works have announced a range of screw sets for the recently announced Xray T4 2017 kit. Available soon are two 64-grade titanium screw kits with UFO or standard heads, an orange anodised 7075-T6 aluminium set, a mixed titanium and orange aluminium kit as well as a gold-plated steel set. All are made using high-quality materials and they replace most of the kit’s original fasteners.

Maclan Racing MMax Pro competition brushless ESC

Coming from Maclan Racing is the new MMax Pro 160A competition brushless speed controller. Developed from the ground up over the last 18 month the speedo utilises an ultra-high performance 32-bit CPU as its central processing brain and compared to the last generation 8-bit CPUs, the 32-bit CPU in the MMax Pro ESC runs at much higher clock speed and bandwidth. The speedo utilises a completely redesigned all-new algorithm firmware to maximise its strength while offering the smoothest throttle and the strongest yet precise braking. The controller offers 12 pre-loaded profiles for all on-road and off-road applications including Stock blinky and low-turn Modified racing. All parameters are adjustable using the on-board USB port and Maclan’s MS Windows-compatible software. Other features include a full aluminium case for improved cooling, it comes with a high-voltage 30mm turbo fan, adjustable 6V to 7.4V high-voltage BEC system and data logging capability. The controller will hit the stores by end of October.
