Nosram HD competition brushless speed controller

Japanese Nosram distributors Active Hobby Products have first information on the all-new Nosram HD competition brushless speed controller available. The controller is housed in a black-coated all-aluminium case, it features heavy duty internals and is good for up to 200A constant current. Like its sibling, the LRP FlowX, the speedo comes as TC Spec variant with a short receiver wire and v4.1 firmware for improved overall performance while the Offroad specific controller utilises a long receiver wire and the v3.1 firmware with advanced timing features and four brake modes. Both controllers sport all-black wires for a stealthy factory look, they can be equipped with optional fan units and they will become available by April.

Capricorn One 30sh touring car carpet tyres

Italian company Capricorn has introduced the new One long-life touring car carpet tyres. The 30 shore tyres feature a reinforced sidewall for more consistency and a longer life span. They come in sets of four and with special graphics on the rims, making them ideal as hand-out tyres for sanctioned racing.

HEC Asia Cup Rd2 – Report

Round two of the HEC Asia Cup, run in collaboration with the Serpent GT Cup, was held at Tom Racing Circuit in Hong Kong with about 70 entries in several nitro on-road classes. Ng Chiu Man would top qualify in the 1/8th nitro class and after a good start into the A-main he looked like he would bring home the win but some tome into the race 5th place qualifier, Kelvin Hui was able to close the gap to the leader quickly. At about the 35-minute mark both were only separated by about a second but with less than two minutes to go Hui’s car suffered an engine failure on the straight which allowed Ng Chiu Man to cruise to the win. 3rd placed Nelso Woo could not capitalise from Kelvin’s issue so he had to settle for 3rd while a lucky Kelvin snatched the runner-up spot.

Eric Anderson takes ROAR 1/12th 13.5T title

The 2017 ROAR carpet nationals were held at 360v2 in New Rochelle, New York. The track is one of the bigger tracks in the US and it offered high bite and a fast flowing layout. In the 1/12th 13.5T class it was Xray’s Eric Anderson that took the win after the triple A-mains, courtesy of a 2nd, 1st and 4th place finish. Behind him Team Associated’s Joe Trandell would come in second with a 3rd and two 2nd place finishes while Speedmerchant’s Chris Tosilini would round out the top 3 with a win and two 3rd place finishes.

Jacky Mouton successful at French 1/8th Classic opener

The opening round of the French 1/8th Classic on-road Championship was held in Montbonnot, Grenoble, France. A total of 94 racers signed in, divided into 70 nitro and 24 electric class entries. In the nitro class, Jacky Mouton (Forfaster/VS Engines) came out successful in the main final from Serge Christiani (Forfaster/Forfaster) in second and Stephan Nicaud (Forfaster/VS Racing) third.

Kalle Lehto takes FinTrack Tour Prostock title

The indoor portion of the FinTrack Tour recently concluded in Äänekoski with the fourth and final round. In the Touring 13.5T Prostock class the race for the title was on between Kalle Lehto and 2016 Champion, Vesa Yli. Vesa had won the opening round in Lahti while Kalle stroke back in round two and three, so Vesa needed to win at the finale in order to have a shot at the title. Right from the get go Kalle had an advantage though while Vesa struggled from an understeering car. After a good start into the third and final A-main Vesa was given a stop & go penalty for a crash he didn’t commit and so he had to settle for third overall behind Teemu Saarinen while Kalle took the day’s win and with it the overall title.

Xray RX8’17 1/8th nitro on-road kit

Xray have revealed the 2017 version of their RX8 1/8th nitro on-road kit. It features some subtle changes compared to last year’s car, one of which is the updated aluminium chassis that sports repositioned engine mounting holes for easier gear mesh adjustment while also incorporating milled sections for additional carbon fibre stiffeners and add-on weights.

Xray X1’17 front anti-roll bar wires

Coming from Xray are optional front anti-roll bar wires for the X1’17 formula car. To the standard 1.2mm variant now also add a softer 1.1mm as well as harder 1.3mm and 1.4mm wires that help to fine-tune the car’s roll characteristics for a range of surface conditions. All are made from high-quality spring steel and they sport laser-engraved markings for easy identification.
