Marc Rheinard TQs & wins ETS warm up race

In preparation of the forthcoming third round of the 2016/17 ETS, the Asoger club in Madrid, Spain held a warm up race this past weekend. Infinity’s Marc Rheinard would sweep the Touring Modified class qualifying, taking all four rounds from Yokomo’s Ronald Völker who had to settle for second in front of Yokomo team mate Christopher Krapp. The finals were a pretty entertaining affair with the opening leg being won by Marc who had the freight-training Ronald and Christopher in tow. In A2 Marc hit a curb in the opening stages which resulted in a DNF with Christopher taking the win from a chasing Ronald while Javier Alonso would take a third place in A2. The third and decisive main was held under difficult conditions as strong wind made for a dirty track that would lead to a Völker spin on the opening lap and a DNF for both Ronald and Christopher as the latter couldn’t avoid T-boning Ronald’s car. With his main competitors out of the equation, Marc was able to cruise to the win from David Perez in second and Arturo Escarpa in third. Overall and behind inner Marc, Christopher and Ronald would make up the top 3 result.

Andre Fossto wins at Swedish On-road Nationals Rd6

The MK Eskil club played host to the sixth and final round of the Swedish Electric On-road Nationals this past weekend. The track offered low to medium grip and due to the technical layout low speed grip and consistency was the key to success. In the Touring Modified class already in practice the field was very close in terms of lap times, showing this would be an exciting race. The qualifiers were swept by Andre Fossto who put his Hobbywing-powered Yokomo on the pole position for the triple A-mains with young Rasmus Karlsson (Schumacher/Muchmore) and Fredrik Loikse (Xray/Hobbywing) coming in second and third. The finals were a pretty intense affair with lots of exciting fights and Andre would continue to dominate, taking wins in A1 and A2 to take the overall victory with one leg to spare. Fredrik would come in second thanks to a win in A3 while Rasmus had to settle for third overall.
