The HB Cyclone was the first electric chassis that was modeled for VRC Pro, back in 2006. By now this chassis has been replaced by their latest development, the HB TCX. This caused us to go back to the 3D drawing board and model the new chassis in hi res. With the TCX now finished we have our electric car line up ready for launch. Team Associated were on top form again at Moto Arena in Silverstone, where the Milton Keynes Club were the hosts for the latest round of the Orion On-road Cup. With a full meeting of 14 heats to get through, it meant four rounds of qualifying and one final for all. Thunder Tiger Europe have signed Polish National Champion Dennis Fadtke to race their line of Associated electric cars. The German driver, who raced a Tamiya in the past will run the TC6 touring car internationally as well as running the B4.1, B44.1 and RC12RS at selected events. Factory Team Associated driver Keven Hébert has got his Euro Touring Series debut off to an impressive start with his TC6 setting the fastest lap around the indoor asphalt track here in St.Polten, Austria. The first Canadian to take part in an ETS event, Hébert managed an 16.285 second lap on a track which he described as being a lot bigger than he was used to racing on in US racing scene. …Olly ripped a wheel off the TC6 and was counting a DNF while Andy went on to take another win. Round five and the two front runners were matched against each other, a few errors from Olly saw the Associated driver hand the initiative to Andy Moore, Andy taking the win with Olly second, three races left but Olly would need to win all three to take it to a tie break, Andy was driving well and looked relaxed as the Hot Bodies driver piled the pressure on Jefferies. …taking TQ and the A final win, Zak Smith won the 10.5 Pro Stock, Zak’s team mate Chris Slater took TQ with his TC6 but a good result for Chris was spoilt after an incident lapping a back marker caused a DNF in leg one of the A final. In the 17.5 stock class it was a convincing victory in the A final for Schumacher driver Scott Hauser, who also took TQ. 13.5 stock racing is a class growing in numbers in the UK and at Moto Arena the victory in this class went to Malcolm Hall. Keven Hébert has signed a 2 year extension to his contract to run Reedy LiPo batteries, Team Associated’s TC6 & 12R5.1 and LRP brushless systems.
