Duratrax introduce new 1/8th & 10th scale tyres

Coming from Duratrax are several new tyres and pre-mounts for 1/8th and 1/10th off-road vehicles. First up are the pre-mounted Lockup 1/8th buggy tyres. The proven sport performance tyre is now available on a new black-colour multi-spoke rim that is also up for grabs separately in 4-piece packages. The wheel for 17mm wheel adapters fits pretty much every modern 1/8th off-road buggy and the pre-mounts are available in the popular C2 tyre compound.

Maifield, Sartel & Monteiro win at 2016 TLR Cup

The Noeux les Mines in France track played host to the 2016 TLR Cup over the weekend. The event attracted a good amount of national drivers and also guest from abroad such as TLR’s Ryan Maifield and Dakotah Phend to battle against Europe’s fastest TLR drivers. In the premier Nitro Buggy class Ryan Maifield would grab the TQ from Renaud Savoya while Marco Baruffolo rounded out the top 3. In the Nitro Truggy category Jerome Sartel came out fastest after the qualifiers from Matt Lewis and Vincent Berthelot while in 1/8th E-Buggy Dakotah Phend took the TQ honours from Jean-Pierrick Sartel and Ryan Maifield.

Mugen MBX-7 series 4-shoe clutch set

Mugen have introduced a new 4-shoe clutch for their MBX-7 series of vehicles. Including a new flywheel the set also comes with four aluminium clutch shoes, a set of 0.8mm and 0.9mm springs as well as mounting material. The clutch is usable with the MBX-7R buggy and MBX7TR truck as well as the MGT7 1/8th GT car with all parts also being available separately.

David Ronnefalk TQs & wins Buggy Euros warm-up

The RC Redovan track in Alicante in the south-east of Spain played host to the EFRA 1/8th Nitro Buggy European Championship warm-up race this past weekend. As annual the warm-up attracted both the hosting country’s fastest drivers as well as a good amount of guests to get some laps under their belts in preparation for the main event later in the year. HB’s David Ronnefalk would take the overall TQ after the four qualifying rounds from Kyosho’s Elliott Boots while the Mugen duo of Oscar Baldo and Joan Carlos Canas rounded out the top 4. In the semifinals disaster stoke for Elliott who suffered mechanical issues while leading his semi, denying him a place in the main final. David Ronnefalk though would cement his dominant performance by taking the pole position for the main from Oscar Baldo and Robert Batlle (Mugen). The 45 minute main final then again had David coming out fastest, some 25 seconds in front of Oscar Baldo while Robert brought home the final podium spot, one lap short of Oscar.

O.S. introduce new .21 & .12 nitro engines

O.S. Engine have released first images and information on three new .21 and .12 engines. First up is the Speed 21XZ-B Spec.III 3.5cc nitro off-road engine. The latest edition of the competition engine features a revised liner for improved torque in the low and mid RPM range while maintaining exceptional mileage at the same time. Also new is the DLC-coated and tungsten-balanced crankshaft and all that is housed in a redesigned crankcase and topped off by a 5mm lower cooling head. The engine is rounded out by the 21J carburettor. The engine will become available in August and it is also available as a combo package including a T-2060SC EFRA2042 pipe.

Avid B6 & B6D Aura bearing sets

Avid have introduced several Aura bearing sets for the Team Associated B6 and B6D buggies. Available as wheel hub, gearbox or full set the packages include up to 16 single seal or open ceramic ball bearings that use high-speed nylon ball retainers and Si3N4 ceramic balls for tight tolerances and the lowest possible friction. All bearings come pre-oiled with high-speed AeroShell light oil.

Ruddog RP1206 coreless low-profile servo

Ruddog Distribution have introduced their all-new RP1206 low-profile servo for 1/10th scale applications. Designed for demanding racing conditions the servo features a black anodised heavy-duty all-aluminium case, sturdy metal gears and a powerful coreless motor. Dual ball bearings and laser-etched logos round out the package. The high voltage compatible servo offers up to 12kg-cm of torque at a speed of down to 0.06s and it is available in two variants with a short 80mm or long 180mm all-black wire, allowing for neat wiring jobs in touring cars and off-road vehicles alike.

WWHD T5M & SC5M laydown transmission conversion

Trinity have introduced the WWHD laydown transmission conversion for the Team Associated T5M and SC5M trucks. The Humpty Helms developed conversion will improve the truck’s corner speed especially in high bite conditions with the set including a machined laydown transmission case, carbon fibre motor plate, carbon fibre camber link mount, carbon fibre battery brace and two truck-specific shock towers along mounting hardware.
