Alberto Garcia successful at Madrid Regionals Rd1

The opening round of the Madrid regional series saw Alberto Garcia walking away with the win in the 45 minute A-main encounter. Starting from the 1 spot Alberto would take the win one lap ahead of runner up, Oscar Navarro. Javier Pombo completed the podium result another lap down while Daniel Vega and Pablo Landaburu rounded out the top 5.

Maclan Racing MR8 1/8th brushless motors

Maclan Racing have introduced their all-new MR8 series of 1/8th competition brushless motors. Designed from the ground up for 4S LiPo racing classes, the completely rebuildable motors feature a machined heatsink design can, oversized precision ball bearings, heavy duty solder tabs and and a sensored, fixed timing design. The MR8 is available in a 1950kv and a 2150kv variant.

PSM RC8B3 alloy wheel hexes & steering posts

German company PSM have introduced new aluminium option parts for the Team Associated RC8B3 in the form of +1.5mm wheel hex drives and lightweight steering posts. Starting with the wheel hexes, the parts are CNC-machined from 6012-T6 aluminium and they offer an increased offset of 1.5mm for increased track width. A special EV2 coating makes for improved protection while strategically milled section reduce the overall weight. The other new part are the 7075-T6 aluminium steering posts for the RC8B3 buggy and RC8T3 truggy. The posts are of a very light weight while offering extreme rigidity. Like the wheel hex drives the steering posts come EV2 coated for wear and they also include a pair of M4x6mm black steel screws.

3rd Annual Lonestar Challenge – Announcement

The 3rd Annual Lonestar Challenge will be held from April 22nd to 24th at the Thornhill Racing Circuit. Recent renovations turned the track into was is possibly the largest covered off-road facility in the World. The event will be held in the usual array of 1/8th off-road as well as 4×4 Short Course classes and it acts not only as the ROAR Fuel Offroad Nationals warm-up but it is also a round to the U.S. Pro Cup. Miguel Mathias teams up with HB Europe

HB Europe have announced the addition of former European Champion and multiple Portuguese National Champion, Miguel Matias to their team. The former Xray driver recently left the team after being with the Slovakian manufacturer since 2014. It is understood that Miguel will attend both national and international 1/8th off-road events with HB’s range of vehicles.

Built from high-quality +65C cells with a capacity of 3900mAh the lightweight battery gives the capability to lighten up the overall weight of the vehicle and also effect the CG greatly by adding back the weight underneath the battery. It has the capacity to power Stock and Modified Buggies alike and it is 55g lighter than its Motiv RC 5000mAh counterpart.

Colin Herzig sweeps Expert classes at 2016 DNC

This past weekend, the 2016 Dirt Nitro Challenge was once again held at The Fear Farm in Goodyear, Arizona. Joey and The Dirt track crew did an amazing job on the track build for this years event and it was a big hit with all the drivers. Kenny Brosh and Jimmy Babcock did another great job keeping the race program moving silky smooth all weekend long and with the total 1/8th race entries being limited to 600 this year, the event went off without a hitch and was very well received by all the racers. On Saturday night, the 30-Minute Expert Nitro Truggy A-Main event would be run. Kyosho America’s Colin Herzig would start 3rd on the grid and as the dust settled after the 30-Minute A-main, it was Herzig taking the impressive win by just under 1 second ahead of TQ holder CJ Jelin (HB). Victor Guerrero (HB) would go onto finish 3rd on the podium.
