Yokomo BD9 linear SLF front springs

Coming soon from Yokomo is their new line of linear SLF front springs for the BD9 touring car. Developed in cooperation with Axon, the springs offer a linear characteristic which will lead to a more aggressive steering feeling compared to the standard progressive front springs. In addition they are 1.5mm shorter, allowing for easier ride height adjustment when running smaller diameter tyres. The individually-marked springs come in 2.6 to 2.8 hardness and according to Yokomo they are also worth a try in the back of the car.

Axial 1/18 Yeti Jr Can-Am Maverick X3 T 4WD

Horizon Hobby have introduced the new 1/18th scale Yeti Jr Can-Am Maverick X3 T 4WD brushed RTR off-road vehicle. The Yeti Jr RTR takes everything modellers admire about the 1/10th scale Yeti chassis and shrinks it down to 1/18 scale – then tops it off with a licensed Can-Am Maverick X3 body for a fun 4WD that anyone can handle. Out of the box, this tiny terror is ready for scale adventures. Before the Yeti, the only place to find an independent suspension with floating solid rear axle was in full-size off-road vehicles. Axial carried its advantages over into RC rock racers and crawlers. The suspension design give the Yeti Jr responsive handling, increased clearance, and improved stability at high speeds. Its included 380-size motor adds the perfect amount of speed and torque, controlled by the Maxxis Bighorn 2.0 radial tires, the Spektrum brushed speed controller and the Spektrum STX2 transmitter. The package is rounded out by a 7.2V 1300mAh NiMH battery pack, a USB charger and AA batteries for the transmitter, making the vehicle a true ready-to-run kit.

First seen at the recent Nuremberg International Toy Fair in Germany, Kyosho have now revealed more information on their forthcoming new re-release Turbo Optima 1/10th scale 4WD vintage buggy. Based on the iconic mid-1980’s Optima buggy, the original Turbo Optima back in the days featured race-proved optionals such as larger diameter tyres, larger volume shock absorbers, front and rear anti-roll bars as well as the 8.4V compatible Le Mans 240S brushed motor. Many of these features now also found their way into the re-release model that in addition sports a full assortment of gold-colour chassis and suspension parts, modern threaded aluminium shock absorbers, a slipper clutch, as well as newly designed  50mm/2.0” block tread tyres for improved traction. The Turbo Optima’s body shell was faithfully recreated and the updates, such as the 48 pitch drivetrain gears and the belt drivetrain, allow to use today’s powerful brushless motors and LiPo battery packs. Zero Tribe working on T4 mid motor conversion

Japanese brand Zero Tribe, known for their popular Xray T4 FWD conversion, have released first renderings of a mid motor conversion for Xray’s T4 electric touring car. The design is inspired by Tamiya’s TA05 car and Awesomatix’s A800 MMCX mid motor conversion, with the equal length front and rear belts making for quicker and more even throttle response while the placement of the somewhat heavy motor creates an optimised overall balance. The kit will allow the use of shorty-type LiPo batteries as it is a developing trend when running indoors. We bring you more information on the kit as they surface.
