Vigor RC BD7-2016 carbon fibre chassis & top decks

Coming from Vigor RC and made for the Yokomo BD7-2016 are two carbon fibre main chassis and top decks. The chassis are available in a 2.0mm and 2.25mm variant while the top decks come in 1.6mm and 2.0mm versions. The parts help to fine-tune the overall chassis flex to suit the track conditions. Available soon is also an aluminium chassis for very high-grip conditions.

CRC pre-mounted GTR tyres & chrome pivot balls

Coming from CRC are the pre-mounted GTR rubber tyres and chrome pivot balls for the company’s line of pan cars. Starting with the tyres, the RT-1 rubber tyres come pre-mounted on black multi-spoke rims and they are designed for the use in World GT-R and rubber tyre oval classes. Their design and rubber compound makes for high durability and performance without any degradation even when used for many races. Also new are chrome-plated front arm pivot balls for the CRC ProStrut front end found on CRC on-road cars. The balls offer a super smooth surface and greater lube holding properties for the smoothest possible front end action.

Team Orion VST2 Pro Mg brushless motors

Available soon from Team Orion are the Vortex VST2 Pro Mg 540 and 690-size brushless motors with magnesium can. Magnesium is a widely used metal in automotive racing, aircraft and spacecraft manufacturing and around 33 percent lighter than aluminium but with similar mechanical characteristics as alloy. The motors use the same technology as the standard VST2 Pro with the 540-size motors also featuring a new sensor design for improved performance and efficiency. The 540-size motor weighs in at 180g and it will become available as 5.5T, 6.5T and 7.5T Modified and 13.5T and 17.5T Stock variant while the 690-class 1/8 motor, weighing in at 323g, is a fixed timing 4-pole 2100kv offering. All offer dual sensor ports and Gold-plated heavy duty solder tabs.

Rickside Design metal grease

New from Japanese company Rickside Design comes a high-temperature resistant metal grease for a range of applications. The lube is ideal for all metal-to-metal connections such as the cross and drive pins of universal and CV driveshafts as well as all other applications where friction and heat build-up is a problem. The high-viscosity grease comes in convenient 10g snap cap cans and it is available from end of January.

CRC WTF1-FC16 formula car kit

Calandra Racing Concepts have introduced the new FC16 version of their successful WTF1 formula car kit. The car is based on a 2.5mm quadaxial, high modulus carbon fibre chassis that allows for three different battery placements in an inline forward and rear as well as a transverse position. The steering servo can be mounted in a standup of laydown position and like the chassis, the front lower wishbone parts as well as rear lower pod plate, battery plate and more are also made up using 2.5mm QHM carbon fibre. Other features include a dual tube roll damper, CRC’s Slider Pod rear ride height adjustment as well as the CRC Pro Diff ball differential mounted on a lightweight carbon fibre rear axle shaft. The WTF1-FC16 kit has already proven its performance by TQing and winning the US Indoor Champs in Cleveland as well as the 2016 Hudy Indoor Champs. The kit will hit the stores early February with a FC16 conversion kit for the original WTF1 car being up for grabs from now on.

Masami to come out of retirement for ETS debut

Legend of the sport Masami Hirosaka is to come out of international racing retirement to make his debut in the World famous Yokomo Euro Touring Series.  Having officially retired from top flight competition after the 2008 Touring Car World Championships in Thailand, the same year the first season of ETS was completed, the 14-time World Champion will compete in the German round in two weeks time (Feb 5-7).  Having last raced in Europe during the 2006 World Championships in Italy, the multiple onroad & offroad World Champion will be one of 8 World Champions who make up the record entry in Muelheim-Kaerlich.

The pivot balls are machined from 7075 aluminium, they come in three different specifications including a 5x4mm, a 5x7mm and a special kingpin pivot ball variant. The alloy parts help to reduce the overall weight and they come black anodised for wear.

Kuba Simurda wins at Moravian-Silesian Cup Rd4

The forth round of the Moravian-Silesian Cup attracted some 80 entries to race in several electric on-road classes. The track was made using the famous “ETS” carpet, making for a constant grip level the whole day. In the Touring Modified class Kuba Simurda was the man to beat as he took a pretty easy win from Pavel Martinec, who hugely bettered his qualifying performance, coming from 5th on the grid. The top 3 result was completed by Karel Kratochvil.
