Tamiya FF-04 EVO Black Edition chassis kit

Tamyia’s FF-04 Evo FWD touring car will soon become available as a special Black Edition kit. The vehicle will feature all-black aluminium parts such as bulkheads, steering and shock details to separate from the standard blue-themed kit. Given the information available the kit will feature the latest big bore shock absorbers and also an aluminium bumper mount as well as an updated motor mount and motor plate to stiffen up the front end but more information should become available in time for the release in December.

2016 International Carpet Challenge – Announcement

The well-known EWS Events team have announced the third edition of the popular International Carpet Challenge event will take place on the weekend of 19-21 February 2016 at their indoor venue near Southend, UK. The race, which will feature classes for Modified and Super Stock Touring Car, plus Formula 1, has grown over the last two years and attracts many drivers from across Europe. As well as the top UK drivers, last year’s runner up Christopher Krapp has already informed us that he plans to attend again. Additionally, a number of Europe’s top Modified, Stock and Formula racers are expected to make the trip to England. Entries for the event, which will also feature a Saturday night drivers’ party at a nearby venue, are now open and will be capped at 150 to ensure a full race program with plenty of track time for everyone can be completed. Antix hardcase LiPo battery packs

New from LRP’s recently announced Antix brand come five economically priced LiPo hardcase battery packs. Build using 45C cells the packs come pre-wired with a US-style T-type connector and an XH balancer port for easy and secure charging and balancing. The range includes an oval diameter 2S 4800mAh racing pack, two 2S straight-type packs, as well as a 3S and 4S battery for 1/8th applications.

Laurent & Briere win at French Winter Nats Rd1

Round one of the French Winter Nationals was held in Montbrison. In the Touring Modified class Lucas Urbain (VBC) and Alexandre Laurent (Xray) battled for the TQ spot with the better end for Alexandre whose last minute shot in the final qualifier handed him the overall TQ and the pole position for the triple A-mains. The final legs then were as tight as the qualifiers. Lucas would come out successful in the opening A-final but Alexandre stroke back in A2 and A3 to take the overall win from Lucas. Loic Jasmin (Yokomo) came in third to round out the podium.

Schumacher Cougar KF2 Special Edition

Schumacher have announced that the Cougar KF2 2WD buggy is now available in a Special Edition. To celebrate a year of top notch results the Cougar KF2 SE includes the option for all three motor positions, all in one box. Available are the standard forward motor position for super high grip astro turf, a low grip position for medium grip astro and grass – as used at the IFMAR Worlds – and also the mid motor placement for medium and low traction conditions such as dirt and sandy/dusty astro – as utilised at the EFRA Euros. Included with the kit comes a new alloy chassis, new bodyshell, three belts for all motor positions as well as a new front carbon fibre top deck and mount as well as battery mounting hardware.

Yokomo BD7-2016 – Teaser image

Yokomo have released a first teaser image for their BD7-2016 electric touring car kit. The latest incarnation of the IFMAR World Championship winning BD7 will feature an extremely low centre of gravity, new small diameter diff pulleys, redesigned short stroke big bore shocks, all-black aluminium parts with silver chamfered edges and a price tag comparable with the 2015 spec car. Detailed information and images will become available by mid-November with the first batch of kits expected to ship the first week of December.

Mini-Z PN Racing World Cup 2015 – Announcement

The 11th edition of the PN Racing World Cup will be held this coming weekend in Maranello, Italy. Born from the idea of PN Racing’s Philip Ng and considered to be the most important Mini-Z race World-wide with former host countries being the U.S. and Singapore, the event will make its first ever stop in Italy. Organised by Minizracing and Davide Marka the event will see the attendance of 140 drivers from different countries to compete in the five classes of 2WD, GT Mod, PanCar, Formula 1 and Le Mans. The race direction will be carried out by Riccardo Acciari and Giuliano Golfieri and more information about the race can be found here.

Wright wins at North Midlands GT Clubmans series

James Wright wins at UK Northwest regionals

The second round of the BRCA North Midlands GT Clubmans series was held at Swifts Raceway. James Wright (Xray) would take the TQ in the Formula class from teammate James Millbank (Xray) and Exotek driver James Greener. The final then saw Wright taking off with no problems while Millbank ran into issues in lap five when he tried to lap a backmarker. Touching the brakes in a corner send his car off the track due to traction rolling, which dropped him back to fifth. Millbank was able to recover to third and that’s how the main ended. Up front James Wright took the win from James Greener on the runner-up spot.
