Arrowmax have introduced a set of Honeycomb design chassis droop blocks. They offer Arrowmax’ signature Honeycomb design and are 20mm high, allowing for precise suspension droop adjustment while looking cool at the same time. The lightweight blocks come gun metal anodised to match the remainder of Arrowmax’ Honeycomb tools an they sport laser-etched writings for easy identification.

The opening round of the Russian Palace Cup was held in the city of Vladimir in several electric on-road classes. In the Touring Modified class Maxim Laverychev (Awesomatix) took the win from Stanislav Glebov (Xray) and Ilya Plakhotnik (Serpent) while Alexey Butuzov (Xray) rounded out the top 4 result. The Touring 13.5T Stock class had Vitaly Karpov (Awesomatix) walking away with the day’s win from Alexander Smirnov (Awesomatix). Alexander Naumov (Xray) completed the podium.

New from Yeah Racing comes a 40mm high-speed cooling fan for a range of applications. Offering dual ball bearings, a high airflow and 2S LiPo compatibility the fan is ideal for motor cooling duties in touring cars but also for off-road vehicles. The fan comes pre-wired with a 250mm long connection wire equipped with a standard JST connector.

Following last weekend’s EFRA AGM, the European governing body has announced the (provisional) dates for next year’s European Championships. The season kicks off in April with the 1/12th scale Euros that are again being held in Trencin, Slovakia while the Summer season starts with the 1/8th On-road and 1/8th Off-road B Euros in May and June respectively. The Nitro Buggy Euros A in July starts a month of a total of seven European Championships including the Electric Touring Car, 1/10th Electric Buggy and 1/8th On-road A while the 1/8th E-Buggy and 40+ Euros round out the calendar in September. Several classes also saw clarifications or additions of existing rules with the EFRA now clarified on the status of EFRA A and B licences and the allowed drivers for the respective Euros. The 1/8th E-Buggy class saw an amendment of the existing bodyshell rules with the bodies now have “to have a real car shape” and they have “to be able to carry the EFRA Numbers at the front and both sides as high as possible”. As for the electric on-road side of things EFRA has added a 1/10th 21.5T Formula class that will be part of the European Championship and that is run with “open” 21.5T motors and blinky speed controllers. Italian company Mon-Tech has introduced the Silvy 190mm touring car bodyshell. Specially designed for asphalt racing and tested on various tracks in Italy, the body is made from 0.75mm polycarbonate and it comes with window masks and a decal sheet with headlight details and logos.
The season finale of the 2015 South African On-Road Gas National Championship took place at RC Zone in Middleburg, about two hours away from Tshwane, Pretoria. A favourite among the 200mm drivers for its technical layout, the track is fast and unforgiving with a brick wall barrier on the outside of the fast “horseshoe” section, which means that one small mistake would send the cars into the wall. The track offered a very high grip level all weekend, with some drivers complaining about too much grip later in the late afternoon. With the national series running a concurrent separate championship called the “Sprint” championship, which is based on qualifying results, first decisions in the championship would made when qualifiers kicked off on Saturday morning. This time the event had attracted more 200mm entries than 1/8 scale, which was not the norm for a national event and only four entries for the 235mm class means this class will likely not be run in the future. Mike Meyers would again dominate over Derrick Plank, Peter Plint and Tony George to take the TQ and seal his spot as Sprint champion for 2015.

Italian company Hot Race have announced the release of the Alexander Hagberg edition foam tyres for 1/12th scale pan cars. Using a special foam selected and formally exclusively used by Hot Race factory team driver Alexander Hagberg, the tyres are now also available to the public and they offer more grip and less wear compared to the standard foam, making them a tuning option for a range of track conditions. The tyres come pre-trued on Hot Race’s standard rims.

Back in February we brought you a first prototype image of Destiny’s forthcoming 1/10th electric touring car and now the Japanese company has released more photos and information to show the project’s progress. Still in prototype stages the car sports several rapid prototype parts such as the lower arm mounts and also the shocks seem to be borrow off a Yokomo but other details such as the symmetrical motor and layshaft mount, the honeycomb wishbone design and the rail-type steering look pretty production ready. The yet nameless car will be based on a 2.25mm carbon fibre chassis with 2.0mm top deck, it will come with 3.5mm carbon fibre shock towers, dual joint front CVD shafts, low-friction coated suspension and pivot balls, as well as front C-hubs with caster inserts and ball-raced anti-roll bars. The shocks will be of a low-profile design with 20mm springs. The final specifications, features and images should become available in time for the release although Destiny did not state yet when this is going to happen.
