New from Mugen Seiki Racing come two ride height gauges. Manufactured from aluminium and coming laser etched for precision measuring they are available for on-road and off-road vehicles with the on-road gauge offering a range of 5mm to 15mm while the off-road gauge has a range from 18mm to 45mm. Both gauges come pre-assembled and they use a simple thumbscrew to lock in the desired setting.
JConcepts have introduced the Detox 1/8th buggy tyre. Designed for those extra brutal track conditions, the tyre features a closely spaced tread that was made to survive long mains and it is available in compounds such as red, blue and green giving racers an option for just about any temperature requirement. The design revolves around the centre structure which has hefty lugs arranged in a stacked configuration. The lugs have strategically placed cuts and grooves to allow flex in dusty conditions to perform even if the track is deteriorating while a long main is in progress. The outer portion of the tread fits together like building blocks, with shapes placed together that nest well but also work together to flex laterally to provide steadfast side-bite. The tread tapers off cleanly to the outer side-wall giving a smooth transition during hard cornering. Included with the tyre come JConcepts’ Dirt-Tech inserts.

Coming from Schelle Racing Innovations are the shock tower plugs to fill unused 3mm holes in buggy shock towers to avoid unwanted soil-samples when you crash and the buggy is digging into the ground. Their stealthy black colour makes them pretty much invisible after installation and the pack includes 10 strips that can be easily cut to size.
After a successful first visit to the famous full size Nürburgring racing circuit for the opening round of Season #5 of the Euro Offroad Series, the organisers are delighted to confirm the championship will also conclude at an all new venue. The fahr(T)raum Museum, a homage to Austrian automotive pioneer Ferdinand Porsche, will host the fourth & final round over the weekend of April 29th to May 1st. Situated in Mattsee, Austria, the town is no stranger to welcoming R/C racers from around the world having twice been a unique venue for a round of the Euro Touring Series. Great race hosts, the arrival of the EOS ties in perfectly with May 1st celebrations to throw a racer’s party over the race weekend.

JConcepts proven Mono 1/10th buggy wheels are now also available in a “slim” 2WD front variant. The rim completes a wheel lineup for the narrow carpet and Astroturf front tires routinely used around the world. The internal ribs feature support in all the appropriate areas extending inside to out against the outer bead ring. The centralized hex accommodates a huge selection of 2WD buggy platforms – including the B5, RB6, KF2, SRX-2 and YZ-2 – and is shallow enough for a clean install every time. A polished face maintains a clean yet simple look for the racer and an outer glue catch resists excess glue from running down the wheel during the mounting process. Absima have introduced the ASB1 1/10th scale 4WD ready-to-run buggies. Building on a tough composite chassis with integrated upper cover the vehicles can be thrown at all kinds of track conditions thanks to their waterproof electronics. The suspension components allows to fine-tune camber and toe settings while the large volume oil-filled shock absorbers feature threaded bodies for easy ride height adjustment. The battery compartment takes standard 7.2V NiMH or 2S LiPo packs and the packages are rounded out by pre-painted buggy bodies and a 2.4GHz radio system. The ASB1 is available as brushless-powered BL version including a factory installed 3420kv brushless motor and 45A controller while the standard brushed version comes with a 550-size 15T motor and LiPo-compatible 40A brushed controller as well as a NiMH battery pack and suitable charger.

The 6th and final round of the Slovakian 1/10th Electric Off-road National Championship was held at the very dusty and bumpy MSR-Bratislava race track. Lucas Grainer was the man to beat in the 2WD and 4WD buggy classes as he was able to grab the TQ in both categories. Michal Nagy came in 2nd in 2WD and Adam Urban grabbed the 2 spot in the 4WD class. In the 2WD class Michal and Lucas then also clearly dominated the mains. The opening leg saw Lucas coming in first while leg 2 had Michal coming out successful following a small bobble of Lucas. The very entertaining third and deceive final was then again won by Lucas, following a series of passes of both drivers.

Xray have released a first teaser image of their soon-to-be-released XB4’16 1/10th 4WD buggy. The year 2016 incarnation of the European Championship winning kit had its debut at the recent EOS race in Germany with a double podium finish in the hands of Martin Wollanka and Bruno Coelho.
