Arrowmax have introduced their new setup system for 1/8th on-road cars. Machined from high-quality aluminium and coming gun metal anodised the tool sports Arrowmax’ distinctive Honeycomb design and it allows for easy and precise camber and toe adjustments thanks to ball raced camber plates and highly precise, laser-etched markings. Also included is a transparent polycarbonate plate for toe and steering throw measurements.
Xray have officially introduced the 2016 specification X12 1/12th scale pan car kit. As explained by Alexander Hagberg in our exclusive interview and making-off feature, the car features some subtle changes and refinements to create a car that is faster and easier to maintain and setup. The backbone of the 2016 car is a redesigned 2.5mm carbon fibre chassis with optimised flex characteristics to allow for precise handling while being soft enough to generate the grip needed. Pre-drilled mounting positions for composite battery stops help to securely fasten 1S LiPo batteries both in a longitudinal and transversal position and the high-grade graphite material generates perfect stiffness for both for indoor carpet and outdoor asphalt racing.
The Reedy Race of Champions started out many years ago as Mike Reedy’s vision to showcase the world’s best drivers in a format unlike any other ever used in RC racing. It has since grown to be one of the most anticipated and prestigious RC races in the world. The Touring Car and Off-Road Race of Champions events are revered across the globe, and now Reedy along with the British Radio Car Association have announce that the inaugural Reedy International 1/12 Race of Champions will take place at the Centre:MK in Milton Keynes, UK on January 15th to 17th 2016. Exotek have a range of aluminium option parts for HPI Racing’s Sport 3 4WD club-level touring car available in the form of a spur gear mount, centre driveshaft and 12mm clamping hex adapters. Starting with the spur gear mount, the CNC-machined part weighs in at only 2.6g versus the 8.4g of the original steel adapter. The mount accepts stock or aftermarket gears with 2 or 4-bolt pattern such as the ones from HPI, Kimbrough and Xenon. Coming orange anodised for wear and looks the adapter is a direct fit on the Sport 3.
Tamiya Raceway in Aliso Viejo, CA is considered the finest on-road racing facilities in the U.S. and was host to the recent 2015 ROAR On-Road Nationals. The top U.S drivers were on hand to battle it out on the newly surfaced track in unusually hot, humid, and rainy conditions. In the 13.5 class Keven Hebert and Rick Hohwart split the qualifying at two rounds apiece with the tie-breaker going in Keven’s favor. The pair then also fought it out nose to tail in the first two legs of the A-main, with Keven coming out on top both times to take the class victory. Rick had to settle for second position, with Kyle Bergstrom rounding out the top three.

Italian company WRC have a new aluminium servo saver assembly for the F-One formula car available. The set includes a new upper servo arm as well as the lower steering bellcrank, a centre bolt, servo saver spring and fastening nut. The set is a direct replacement for the stock parts and makes for a more precise and durable steering assembly while offering two steering Ackermann positions.
The final round of the Spanish National Series was held in Barakaldo, Spain in the three classes of Touring Modified, Touring Stock and Formula. With rain being forecasted during the weekend the organisers tried to get through the qualifiers as quick as possible and in the Modified class it was David Perez who grabbed the overall TQ thanks to a blistering final qualifier that also smashed the current track record. In the Formula class Jan Ratheisky would grab a pretty undefeated TQ to get the pole position for the finals. Unfortunately on Sunday heavy rain forced the organisers to cancel the race, meaning the qualifying results would determine the day’s winners. Therefore David Perez (Xray) would take the win in the Touring Modified class from Dominic Vogl (Yokomo) and Jon Ander Lorenzo (Xray) while in the Formula class Jan brought home the win thanks to his TQ.

Reflex Racing have introduced the RSD RR12V2 carbon upgrade kit that comprises of all new carbon parts to convert the RR12 car to the new geometry the team has been running. The kit allows the car to have a wider set up window, it generates more corner speed and is simply faster than the V1. Included with the kit come new thinner 2.3mm quasi weave carbon parts that are lighter yet stronger than the standard weave 2.5mm parts. Since the parts are thinner they also help lowering the centre of gravity. A new pod geometry with the pivot 2mm further forward provides more corner speed and less lift while allowing for more aggressive settings. The car’s battery holding system, whether in transverse of inline, has been revised to provide tape-less solutions and more secure holding of the battery. All shapes have been optimised for clearance, flex and ease of use and last but not least the side springs now have optional, more in board positions, to aid in a softer roll control for high-bite conditions.
