Exclusive – nVision R540 brushless motors

Exclusive – nVision R540 brushless motors

Coming soon from nVision, previously known especially for their range of high-performance nitro engines and LiPo batteries, are the R540 competition electric brushless motors. Designed by motor guru Oscar Jansen the new R line motors offer a machined, orange anodised aluminium can with alloy front and rear endbells. Excessive machining of the can and endbells reduce the overall weight while improving cooling efficiency at the same time. Pre-shaped heavy-duty solder tabs make for easy and reliable wiring even when using large diameter wire. The sensored motors target the serious racer who is looking for a reasonably priced competition motor with the R540 being available as 4.5T to 8.5T Modified and 10.5T to 21.5T Stock racing variant.

JConcepts TLR 22 titanium front axle

JConcepts TLR 22 titanium front axle

Coming from JConcepts and made for the TLR 22 buggy is the titanium front axle kit. A critical point of the conversion revolves around the front axle and surrounding geometry, with JConcepts having conveniently built the front axle and hex into a single piece allowing the use of a traditional 4mm lock-nut instead of the stock screw type design. A low-profile, aluminium 4mm locknut has been included which features an inner serrated surface which grips the wheel when tightened for locking security. The titanium material lowers the weight and increases the bling factor with the axle being easily installed on the 22 buggy line of vehicles including the TLR 22 2.0.

RDRP Ultra Motor Distance Plate Set

RDRP Ultra Motor Distance Plate Set

Revolution Design Racing Products introduce the new Ultra Motor Distance Plate Set that helps to fine-tune the weight distribution of a variety of vehicles such as in-line motored off-road buggies or touring cars with transversal motor position. The shims help to shift the motor forth and back or left and right in order to optimise weight distribution without the need for additional weights. On pan cars the plates also adjust the weight balance of the rear pod if needed. Motors with ultra long shafts can be re-shimmed to avoid any contact between the shaft and the battery pack or other equipment. The set includes a 1.0mm and one 2.0mm plate, both being made of black anodised aluminium with laser-etched logos.

Jon Hazlewood wraps up UK Truggy Championship

 http://www.nemoracing.com/blogs/news/15612144-hazlewood-uk-national-truggy-champion

On the back of the UK Buggy success, Jon Hazlewood continued the run of Championships for Agama/Nemo Racing by taking the BRCA National Truggy title. Coming into to the weekend, Jon was in a very strong Championship position needing only a decent result to ensure the Championship went his way. As it was Jon drove well within himself to place his truck 3rd on the day to secure his title. The race was won by Bullitt driver Graham Alsop making a 1 off appearance in the Truggy series this year after a close battle with another Agama driver, and BRCA Junior Buggy Champion Ollie Currie. Ollie has competed well at the Truggy races this year and this result would actually secure 2nd overall in the series for him, and would complete an Agama 1-2. 3rd overall in the series was another Bullitt/Beta man, Michael Lewis. Coming into the weekend, Michael was actually the only man who could deny Hazlewood the Championship, but a not so good round by his standards saw him fall to 3rd overall behind Ollie.

This past weekend the 2014 U.S. Southern Nationals were held in West Monroe, Louisiana at the Ike Hamilton Expo Center on a flowing track that has a lot of elevation changes. In the Nitro Buggy main Cade Whitenton got a good start, moving up to 3rd in the first lap coming from 6th on the grid. Taylor Petersen and Jason Branham were out in front with Cade being about 3 seconds behind them when Jason ran into engine troubles and Cade was moved up to 2nd to settle behind Taylor just to find Petersen coming into the pit lane for his own engine troubles.
