Scorpion RS-3420 optional rotors

Scorpion have three new optional rotors for the RS-3420 line of electric brushless motors available. First up is the 12.0mm high speed rotor that is designed to improve the maximum RPM produced by the motor while being able to withstand extremely high temperatures. Also new is the 12.3mm all-purpose rotor that offers a good balance of RPM and torque for a linear throttle and brake feeling. Last but not least comes the 12.5mm high torque rotor for maximum power and increased brake and drag brake strength. All rotors are made from high-strength materials and they feature Scorpion’s patented screw-type rotor and cooling fan for lower running temperatures.

Multiple European Championships main finalist Christoffer Svensson has joined the Mugen Seiki factory team for the 2015 season and beyond. Christoffer will attend both national and international events using Mugen’s line of competition off-road kits.

Patrick Hofer doubles at GP of Arbon

The GP of Arbon was held this past weekend and it is a yearly tradition in the Swiss RC scene. Its popularity was evident by the many visitors who came to see the top-notch racing action. The low traction, medium sized indoor track forced racers to pay extra attention to their setup. Not fazed by the conditions, Patrick Hofer applied his considerable driving skills and put his Reedy-powered Team Associated 4WD and 2WD buggies on TQ, and continued on to win both the 2WD and 4WD classes.

DKT bronze insert clutch shoes

DKT now have their new bronze insert clutch shoes for Mugen-style nitro off-road clutches available. Developed with the help of Riccardo “Verry” Verardo the bronze insert is made from the same material as used with engine connecting rods and they significantly reduce friction for improved clutch smoothness and a longer life of the flywheel pins.

Bornhorst & Weatherholt now Alpha Plus powered

Alpha Plus announce the signing of Joe Bornhorst and Derek Weatherholt to strengthen the US team along team manager Ryan Lutz. The two drivers are both Midwest fast guys and have shown their potential already. Both are poised to make 2015 be break out years for themselves in the Nitro Buggy and Truggy classes and Alpha Plus is pleased to have them on board.

Serpent have released a first teaser for their forthcoming SRX-4 1/10th scale 4WD buggy kit. Serpent promise to have more information on the Billy Easton designed buggy available soon, with the release being planned for end of March, beginning of April, and we will keep our eyes and ears open on details that may float around in the pits during this weekend’s Reedy Race of Champions.

HPI Racing Q32 option parts & USB charge wire

For HPI Racing’s Q32 2WD micro buggy come a range of option parts such as a high speed gear and stability set, optional rims and tyres as well as an USB charge cable. Starting with the high speed gears and stability set, the kit contains three different gearing sets for acceleration and top speed adjustment, as well as a steering toe set to increase the front toe out angle by 1 or 2 degrees. Also part of the package is a tweak screw set to adjust the turning radius to be wider or sharper.

Jan Ratheisky teams up with LRP

Jan Ratheisky teams up with LRP

German electric on-road frontrunner Jan Ratheisky has recently teamed up with LRP to run the company’s electric brushless motors, speed controllers, battery packs, chargers and power supplies. The Euro Touring Series Formula champion and Pro Stock Vice champion will also assist with product development. Jan’s 2015 event schedule includes the LRP Touring Car Masters, the ETS and also the Euros and German nationals and he has the following to say about the deal:

During last year’s European Championships in Spain I was impressed by the team work of the LRP crew and I was involved in the tests right from the start. After a couple of practice runs and nice talks with Ales and Jürgen I was offered a team drive – an offer I could not deny.
