Capricorn V3 standard & big bore shock absorbers

Italian company Capricorn introduce the new V3 shock absorbers for their EP and GP kits. The shocks feature a redesigned lower cartridge that allows to use dual O-rings for better sealing or a single O-ring for a smoother operation with less friction. A new piston rod design holds the pistons in place using a screw for easier setup changes and a fixed piston that does not rotate within the shock housing. The 1/10th shocks are available as 52mm, 55mm and 57.5mm long variant while the 1/8th related shocks come in 57.5mm an 60.5mm length. Also new are 50 shore and 60 shore volume compensator membranes for further fine-tuning.

Team Orion VST2 Sport brushless motor

Team Orion introduce the new VST2 Sport brushless motor. Developed by Oscar Jansen the sport version of the World Championship winning VST2 Pro is of a fixed timing design, making it ideal for spec racing classes. The motor builds on a machined aluminium can, it is of a simple and reliable deign and large venting holes make for efficient cooling and low running temperatures even in high ambient temperatures. The VST2 Sport is available in 6.5T to 8.5T modified and 10.5T to 21.5T stock windings.

Danielsen & Johnsen win at PileCup Rd1

Brondby Racing Club near Copenhagen recently held the 1st round of the PileCup in the four classes of Touring Car Modified, Super Stock, LeMans and Formula 1. The most exciting class was the Touring Car Super Stock category with Patrick Danielsen and Jack Holger Sorensen fighting for the win. After both scored a leg win in the opening A-mains the third and last final would be the decisive one and at the end it was Patrick who held everything together to take the win from Jack Holger Sorensen and Caspar Morgen.

ZZRacing have new stainless steel and titanium screw sets available for a range of Schumacher and Hot Bodies kits. Beside weight saving titanium and cooler looking silver stainless steel screws the sets also include purple colour aluminium washers and aluminium nyloc nuts and they are currently available for the Schumacher Mi5, Mi5 Evo, Cat K1, Cougar KR/KF/SV2 as well as the SupaStox kit. As for the Hot Bodies range, specific sets for the TC-FD and TCXX are available.

Bowie Ginting wins at Kenji Cup Rd4

Round 4 of the Kenji Cup was held at the Royal Camp Pondok Indah track in Indonesia with most drivers competing in the Touring Car 13.5T boosted class. Xray’s  Bowie Ginting took the TQ honours in the penultimate qualifying round, followed closely by Muhammad Izzah who was only 1.6s behind. Danny Iswahyudi started from 3rd into the finals, 6.5 seconds behind the TQ holder with Suwardi Suliandy rounding out the top 4. The A-main saw Bowie securing the overall win early by coming out successful in leg 1 and leg 2. Izzah combined his double 2nd place finishes to grab the runner-up spot while Ronny completed the podium for an Xray 1-2-3.

Tobias Weist takes 2014 RC Lemans championship

The 7th and final round of the RC Lemans took place at the prestigious MRC Oberhausen track. With the championship still open the race would decide about the overall title between last year’s German Pro10 champion and RC Lemans winner, Tim Altmann and this year’s German Pro10 champion, Tobias Weist. Before the event Tobias was leading the ranking by 2 points meaning the pressure was on Tim to defend his RC Lemans title after already loosing the German national title to Tobias.

Lazzerini & Bucci win Italian 1/8th GT champs

The 3rd round of the Italian 1/8th GT championship was held at the RME Cassino track this past weekend. In the F1 class Federico Lazzerini took the win with Salvatore Battista and Gaetano Moschini rounding out the podium. The victory also handed Lazzerini the overall championship title. In the F2 category Stefano Bucci came out successful to take the win and the 2014 championship honours. Simone Giordani came in 2nd, Simone Roberto competed the podium in 3rd.

BRCA 1/10th IC series Rd7 – Report

The final round of the BRCA 1/10th IC series was held at the Mendip circuit in Weston-Super-Mare. A total of 36 drivers took part in the meeting with 21 drivers in the 200mm class and 15 in the Sports GT class. On Sunday the first couple of qualifiers were damp, meaning that the FTD runs would be posted later on. In Round 1, Alex Thurston and Andrew Hastings topped the 200mm and Sports GT classes respectively by making the most of the drying track. The pair again topped Round 2 with their Serpent/OS and Shepherd/Sonic machines. 2014 champions Mark Green and Glyn Beal went quickest in Round 3 with their Novarossi and OS powered Serpents. In the final round Joe Kerry and Andrew Hastings completed the fastest runs of qualifying to TQ the meeting. Alex Thurston and Mark Green qualified 2nd and 3rd overall in the 200mm class with the Top 3 separated by just 1.5 seconds. Glyn Beal and Jason Thompson put there Serpents in 2nd and 3rd for the Sports GT A Final.
