Andreas Georgiou takes RCE champs Rd2

The 2nd round of the RCE Championship was held at the Dirt Paradise off-road track in Nicosia, Cyprus. Despite hot weather conditions many drivers attended and finally it was former champion Andreas Georgiou who took the TQ for the A-final. The championship leader also went on to win the main in front of Andreas Thrasyvoulou in 2nd and Nicholas Zachariades in 3rd. Marios Christodoulou completed the top 4 result.

ST Racing Concepts introduce their new weight reduction kits for the Team Associated B5 series buggies. Coming as dedicated B5 and B5M set, the kits include high-quality titanium screws and blue anodised aluminium locknuts to cut the weight of the buggy’s fasteners in half. The B5 rear motor configuration weight reduction kit contains 71 pieces including 58 flat head and button head titanium screws as well as 13 blue anodised aluminium locknuts in M4 and M3 size while the B5M kit features 11 additional screws and 2 additional locknuts. The weight reduction kit will soon also be available for other popular vehicles…

Patrick Hofer wins at German nationals qualifier

A qualifying round for the German 1/10th electric off-road nationals was held at the somewhat slippery astro turf track in Gemünden. In the 4WD class Team Associated’s Patrick Hofer took the TQ and win with his Reedy-powered B44.2 from Chris Geier (Yokomo) and Micha Widmaier (Schumacher/CS Electronic).

Tom Cockerill sweeps Belgium GP

This weekend was the 24th running of the annual Belgium GP. The event is very popular, with many people requesting entries, but due to the nature of the event and venue the organisers keep an entry limit of 80 in 2WD and 70 in 4WD, allowing reasonable length days and plenty of track time, with open practice in the days preceding the event. It really is a great event, very relaxed atmosphere and a showcase for RC racing with is location in a public park, where many activities take place over the weekend, drawing in many spectators and drivers from 7 countries.

ElectroChamps 2014 – Report

The biggest Greek electric off-road race of the year was held at the Fanatix racing track in the Northern suburbs of Athens. The event saw 2WD buggy racing on Saturday and the 4WD buggy and SC classes on Sunday with over 50 entries in total and the appearance of Team Associated factory team driver Peter Pinisch from Austria. Peter then dominated the 2WD class on Saturday, smashing the track’s lap record and winning the race in front of Vassilis Bournias (Schumacher) and Dimitris Fotinos on a close 3rd (Kyosho).

David Kukla wins at Czech electric off-road nats Rd1

The first round of this year’s Czech electric off-road nationals was held at the technical clay track in Debolin. On Saturday two timed practice rounds and five qualifications runs were held with David Kukla coming out successful in the 4WD buggy class, taking TQ for the finals. For the A-main David was able to conserve his performance, taking wins in all 3 final legs to take the first round of the two event championship. Dominik Sulc and Tomas Holicky completed the podium in 2nd and 3rd respectively.

Team C introduce another aluminium option part for the TM4 4WD buggy in the form of a servo saver arm. Machined from high-quality material and coming orange anodised to match the remainder of the vehicle’s alloy parts, the arm is made to improve the durability of the steering assembly while adding a splash of colour. The part is a direct replacement for the kit’s composite arm.

BRCA Truggy & E8 championship Rd4 – Report

This past weekend the BRCA Truggy and E8 championship moved South to the newly revamped dirt track at Kent. The morning skies had a little moisture in them to welcome the drivers. The 6 minute practice session that both classes had was a little greasy but still allowed the drivers and marshals to get a feel of the new layout. Round 1 started with the E8 buggy doing there first qualifying run out of 3, with the best 2 to count. This resulted in an assortment of lap times with Kevin Brunsden fastest in heat 1 and Elliot Boots fastest in heat 2. By the time the Truggy class started the track was starting to loose the damp shine. Heat one of the Truggy class was won by Tony Truman and heat 2 by young Oliver Currie.
