Jörn Neumann teams up with Arrowmax

Arrowmax RC announce the signing of multi-time European Champion Jörn Neumann to their team. Jörn will be using Arrowmax honeycomb tools, setup tools and option parts and the German ace will also help with development and testing of new products. This is what Jörn has to say about the deal:

RPM ECX 2WD oversized front spindle blocks

RPM introduce oversized front spindle blocks for the ECX line of 1/10th 2WD vehicles such as the Torment, Boost, Ruckus and Circuit. They make use of (optional) larger and thus more durable 5x11mm bearings and are made to improve durability and precision compared to the stock spindles thanks to their design and the use of RPM’s nylon material. The parts are a direct swap for the stock spindles and retain the stock geometry of the suspension. All that is needed are four 5x11x4mm ball bearings and you are good to go.

TLR 22SCT 2.0 short course truck kit

Team Losi Racing introduce the 22SCT 2.0 2WD short course truck kit. The evolution step of the popular 22SCT makes use of the experience gained with the 22 2.0 buggy kit and features a vast amount of improvements such as an updated front and rear suspension geometry with revised castor blocks and spindles that make for an easier to drive truck without sacrificing corner speed. In the rear, a wider arm and less off-set on the rear hub make it possible to change direction more easily and make faster exits from the turn.

Hot Bodies D8T Tessmann Edition truggy kit

Hot Bodies introduce the D8T Tessmann Edition 1/8th nitro truggy kit. Based off the original D8T the Tessmann Edition kit was designed with the input of Ty and Gord Tessmann to create an even faster and even more durable truck. The drivetrain has been lightened with new lightweight diffs and lightweight spur gear for quicker acceleration response, plus a new centre rear CVD and longer rear CVDs get the power from the engine to the wheels more efficiently. All the CVDs feature captured pins as well as dust boots for less rebuilding time, plus extra pin holes for a longer useful racing life. A one-piece CNC engine mount holds the engine in place on the 4mm thick 7075 chassis.

JConcepts 1/8th Dirt-Tech buggy tyre insert

New from JConcepts come the Dirt-Tech tyre insert for 1/8th scale buggies. Designed in conjunction with Brian Kinwald, the insert has medium sized cuts on the outside which touch off against the tyre inner carcass providing a cushy response and feel. The inside has horizontal channels cut in a 360 pattern to soak up the large impacts and help create forward bite and increase acceleration. The newly developed material providing racers a durable option capable of being used in medium to extremely high-traction conditions. The 83mm inserts work with any 1/8th buggy tyre and wheel and they come as 4-piece sets.

Bruno Coelho takes Portuguese off-road nats Rd4

The 4th round of this year’s Portuguese 1/8th off-road nationals was held at the track of Evora. The Sunday started off wet but temperatures in the 26°C range made the surface dry swiftly. As for the racing action, Xray’s Bruno Coelho and Miguel Matias won their respective semifinals with a wide margin so everything looked set for a team battle in the main final. In the main Bruno took off with no problems right from the start but an engine problem allowed Miguel to take the lead later on but his lead was not for long because Bruno was able to fight back and to take the main win in front of Miguel Matias and Ricardo Monteiro.

Based on the proven twin vertical plate “ladder” frame, the buggies and trucks offer a super tough chassis, large volume shock absorbers and a durable drivetrain with fluid-filled gear differential. The kits are topped off by pre-painted polycarbonate bodyshells and pre-mounted multi-surface dBoots tyres for best possible traction on a variety of surfaces. Included with the factory-assembled kits also comes a fully waterproof 35A brushed controller, a 15T Mega brushed motor, a water and dustproof 5kg-cm steering servo and a 2.4GHz radio system. The Mega range vehicles are available as Raider desert buggy, Granite monster truck, Fury short course truck and Vorteks stadium truck.
