Stuiver wins at Dutch champs, Rombouts champion

The AMCA Apledoorn track saw the final round of the Dutch 1/10th nitro on-road championship. This time no Kyosho World Cup driver attended due to the KWC International Race but a couple of guests filled up the NK clas field nicely. Daan Stuiver finally got it together having a perfect weekend, just beating Pedro Rombouts to the pole in front of Julius Kolff. Sander Borghoff completed the top 4. In the final Daan took the gamble and selected a car that was good in the beginning of the race. Julius gambled as well but it did not work out for him. At the end Daan took the win one lap ahead of Pedro with Ruud Schuitemaker completing the podium. Milan Holthuis came in fourth, Julius Kolff completed the top 5. In the championship, it was between Roy Bakker and Pedro Rombouts. Pedro missed one race and had to end up in front of Roy Bakker while Roy had to finish five places in front of Pedro. Unfortunately Roy did not have the speed this weekend to challenge Pedro so the latter took the championship again.

International Romanian Nitro Cup – Report

International Romanian Nitro Cup – Report

The International Romanian Nitro Cup took place last weekend at the new Hobby Arena circuit near Bucharest. The new built track shares many of the facilities you will find rather on a F1 circuit: Big scale scoreboard, displays everywhere, everything you could imagine and some more you would not expect on a regular RC track. As traction additives were strictly forbidden the track itself was treated giving the brand new asphalt layer a good amount of grip. The race schedule had Friday and Saturday for free practice, controlled practice, qualifications and the first round of semifinals for both 1/10 and 1/8.

Kerswell wins at Chesterfield Summer Shootout Rd4

Kerswell wins at Chesterfield Summer Shootout Rd4

This weekend saw the 4th and final round of the Chesterfield Summer Shootout Championship, probably the most competitive 12th scale summer championship in the UK with many of the top national drivers competing.
With the national championship starting next month almost all of the UK’s top drivers were in attendance to do some final pre-national testing. After 4 rounds of qualifying Chris Kerswell ended up in pole position, over a lap up on 2nd place, David Spashett. Moving into the final it was clear David would try to pass on the first few laps to try to prevent a gap appearing.  As it unfolded he couldn’t get close enough to make a move and that allowed Chris to pull away and maintain a gap of approximately half a lap to second place. At the end Chris won the A main in front of Daniel Holmes and Mark Stiles. David Spashett came in fourth with Luke Burley completing the top 5.
