Tamiya TA06-R chassis kit

Tamiya introduce the limited edition TA06-R 4WD touring car kit. The intermediate level belt-driven car features option parts taken over from the TRF line such as the TRF418 A-arms and uprights and TRF417 front and rear driveshafts. The “R” version also received some one-off parts to make the TRF parts fit while graphite reinforced A, J, T and N parts make for higher chassis rigidity. Other options included in the kit are front and rear anti-roll bars as well as TA06MS aluminium centre pulleys. The kit is scheduled for a late March release.

Sprint RC introduce the updated Max Power PR9.0 2014 version long stroke engine. The updated version includes highly precise ceramic bearings, a lightened and tungsten-balanced crankshaft as well as a 9-port sleeve. Included is also a range of venturi inserts to make engine setup for 16 percent nitro fuel easier.

Knudtson & Klingforth win at ROAR On-Road Carpet nats

Beside 1/12th scale pan car racing the 2014 ROAR Carpet On-Road Nationals, held at the HobbyTown USA HobbyPlex in Omaha, Nebraska, also had a lot of touring car action to offer. Paul Lemieux (Xray) would TQ the Modified class by less than 0.5 seconds over Kody Knudtson (Awesomatix). Filling out the top five would be Keven Hebert (Associated), Josh Cyrul (Awesomatix) and Andrew Doherty (Xray). In A-main 1 Paul Lemieux would run away with the win, allowing for a tight battle between Kody, Keven and Josh for 2nd. Paul would cruise to the win, with Kody and Keven following.

ENS announces 2014 tyre format

The organisers of the 1:10 & 1:8 Nitro Onroad based Euro Nitro Series are pleased to officially announce the tyre format for its inaugural four round championship. Following a recent meeting with industry representatives at the ETS in Germany, the decision was taken that the championship will continue to operate a hand-out controlled tyre system similar to that used during last year’s two race ‘Pilot Series’.

WRC STX graphite shock parts

WRC STX graphite shock parts

WRC introduce new composite shock parts for the STX 2014 touring car. Moulded from graphite reinforced material the parts are very hard and they offer a higher crash resistance than the stock plastics. Included are four upper shock mounts with bleeding hole, four spring retainers and four lower ball cups.

Trin T & Charlee P win at 2014 KL City GP Challenge

The 2014 KL City GP Challenge was held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia last weekend. In the 1/8th nitro on-road class Chavit S took the pole position but in the finals it was Trin T who took the win with the KM Racing K8. In the 1/8th 200mm class Azri Amri successfully ended the qualifiers taking TQ but he had to make way in the finals for Charlee P who took the win from Azri.

Hebert, Anderson & Wiita win at ROAR carpet nats

The 2014 ROAR carpet on-road nationals took place last weekend at the HobbyTown USA Hobbyplex in Omaha, Nebraska. In the 1/12 Modified class Keven Hebert made a clean sweep by winning A1 and A2 to take the overall win early after starting from pole position. A3 then saw Dave Ehrlich coming in 1st after Josh Cyril scored a DNF. Josh came in second overall though with Dave Ehrlich completing the 1/12 Modified podium.

Berntsen wins ETS Gran Canaria

Xray’s Adrian Berntsen claimed the biggest win of his career today at the third round of the Yokomo Euro Touring Series when he became only the 10th race winner in the world famous electric touring car championship. Winning the opening A-main at the Gran Canaria event, which he backed up with a second in A2, the Norwegian drove a calculated final leg to finish second behind defending champion Ronald Volker and more importantly ahead of Xray team-mate Alexander Hagberg to take the overall win at the ETS’ 36th race. Having TQ’d the event, Volker would finish second overall on tie break with Hagberg to claim his 10th consecutive podium finish. Like at Round 2 where Hagberg took the win it was once again an all Xray affair with team driver Jan Ratheisky taking the win in both Pro Stock and Formula on the holiday island.
