The 2nd round of the Portuguese nitro on-road championship was run at the Funchal track in Madeira. The TQ in the 200mm class went to Xray’s Bruno Coelho who lead an armada of four Xray cars that made the top 4. For the final Bruno conserved his performance, winning the main one lap ahead of Nuni Andre. Luis Filipe and Alcino Camacho (all Xray) completed the top 4 result.

The first round of the 2014 Ride Cup took place at the famous RC Addict track in Bangkok, Thailand. In the Touring Car Modified class Atsuhi Hara (Yokomo) grabbed the win from his Yokomo teammates Meen V. and Charlee P. for an all-Yokomo podium.

Available soon from Team C is this 17mm wheel nut wrench for 1/8th scale buggies, truggies and GT cars. The tool sports a 17mm steel nut driver and a lightweight yet sturdy aluminium handled that comes orange anodised and laser etched. Tamiya’s Viktor Wilck has teamed-up with Serpent to run the company’s nitro on-road and off-road vehicles, the Dutch company announce. The Swede will run the new Natrix 748 1/10th car at this year’s EFRA Euros and IFMAR Worlds, he will use the 1/8th Viper 977 at the Euros and Nordic champs and he will also have a bit of fun in the dirt while racing the Cobra 811 buggy at the Nordics. We understand that his contract with Tamiya to race the company’s electric chassis is not affected by his new endeavour.

Serpent have released first images of their forthcoming S411 Eryx 3.0 touring car kit, courtesy of Marc Fischer. The pictures mainly show the new aluminium lower chassis plate that can be seen in prototype stages in the images – the production version will come hard-anodised and engraved. Shipping of the kits will start after the 6th of May with the 3.0 should be hitting the stores shortly after.

The first round of the Dutch electric on-road nationals was held last weekend at the RC-Hotwheels track in Deventer. Practice on Saturday took place under the best possible weather conditions but overnight rain washed away the grip and coming the first qualifying round the track was still damp. Soon after the first round was completed, the heaven opened its gates again causing the racing action to come to a halt. In the Touring Car Modified class the TQ then went to Rob Jansen (Tamiya) followed by Jetse Reitsma (Spec-R) and Ronald Arts (Tamiya). The Stock class had Jitse Miedema taking TQ in front of his Xray fellows Bram Lagerwey and Steven Koiter.

The recent New South Wales IC State Titles not only saw the running of an 1/8th GT support class but also 1/8th and 1/10th nitro racing. In 1/8th on-road Mugen racer Jeff Hamon took the win from Leigh Dytor and Michael Turner. The 1/10th class had Peter Jovanovic taking the win from Jeff Hamon and Aaron Lee.

Moorebank Raceway hosted the 2014 New South Wales State IC Titles and for the first time ever 1/8 GT was offered as a demonstration class and is anticipated to be an approved class in the near future. The field comprised of a variety of brands which was dominated by Serpent Cobra GT drivers. Qualifying commenced on Friday with two qualifiers completed. Rick Seymosberger made an early statement in his Cobra GT which he improved upon during the second qualifier.
