Pedro Rombouts wins Dutch nitro on-road nats Rd5

For the 5th round of the Dutch 1/10th nitro on-road nationals the whole entourage moved to the MRG Genk track in Belgium. It was the first time the Dutch nationals raced on this track and most drivers soon found a good rhythm. In qualification Ricardo Hofmeijer clocked the fastest time with 51.6 seconds for three consecutive laps, handing him the TQ spot for the main final. Behind him both Pedro Rombouts and Daan Stuiver managed to get 51.7 seconds, placing them 2nd and 3rd on the grid respectively. In 4th Roy Bakker took the last direct spot to the main final by achieving a time of 51.8 seconds.

Radtec BD7 & T4-14 aluminium main chassis

Radtec announce the soon release of new aluminium main chassis plates for the Yokomo BD7 and the Xray T4-14. The chassis are made of black anodised 2.0mm high-grade USA 7075 aluminium material and retain the shape of the stock carbon fibre chassis. Strategically placed milled out sections reduce the overall weight while 15 degree bevels on the outer edges chassis scrubbing during cornering, thus improving steering and corner speed on high speed tracks.

Futaba 4PX 4-channel T-FHSS radio system

Following our initial feature about Futaba’s new 4PX some weeks ago the Japanese company now have more information and especially images about their latest flagship radio system available. Compared to the 4PKS-R the transmitter is 30 percent faster and around 15g lighter for ultimate response and comfort. A full-color TFT display with intuitive menus makes operation hassle-free and the synthesised voice for telemetry data option allows drivers to hear updates via the built-in speaker or headphones. An assignable button on the bottom lets users activate key features instantly by touching it with their body. Compatibility with T-FHSS, S-FHSS and FASST protocols gives drivers the freedom to use the 4PX with their favourite Futaba 2.4GHz receivers. Durable, long-lasting potentiometers result in improved, precise calibration and a micro memory card port allows to update the software and transfer models from one 4PX to another.

Updated Hobbywing Xerun 120A V3.1 firmware

After more than half a year of development and testing, Hobbywing announce the latest firmware release for their flagship Xerun V3.1 car series controller. The new “V3.2_140627_Beta” firmware offers improved bottom end feel with lower motor temperatures. Development has also focused on improving the brake operation when running super fast boosted programs. Brake linearity is retained whilst still providing exceptional brake power. World Champion team drivers Atsushi Hara and Andy Moore have both helped developing the new firmware, and highlight the improved feel throughout the throttle and brake profiles.  The latest firmware version is available for download here.

Jeff Hamon wins at 2014 Queensland State Titles

The 2014 Queensland State Titles were held last weekend at the QRCCRA club located in Brendale, about 15 minutes from Brisbane. In the 1/10th 200mm Nitro Sedan class Jeff Hamon came out successful with his Novarossi-powered Mugen to take this year’s title.

KM H-K1 Evo3 fuel tank

KM have a new option part for the H-K1 Evo3 200mm nitro on-road car available in the form of this fuel tank. It offers a stronger spring for the cap, a new internal fuel filter and a reinforced tank body and cap mount. Also new is a cap pivot pin that now sports an E-clip support. The tank is a direct replacement for the stock part.

Yokomo Europe introduce the limited edition BD7-2014 ETS Champion kit. Based on the standard Black Edition BD7-2014, the kit is issued to celebrate the 4th back-to-back Euro Touring Series title and it comes with a load of option parts such as C-clip front double joint driveshafts, rear aluminium 44mm dog bones, a graphite front body mount support, a special black colour aluminium servo mount, a titanium-coated main gear shaft, a super-precision bearing set, aluminium belt tension adjustment cams and hard-coated self-lubricating shock ball ends. The kit, that is limited to 25 pieces, is rounded out by a titanium turnbuckle set, a luxury packaging and a transportation bag, both of which are marked with a serial number. The kit will become available from beginning of August. Please note that above image shows the standard edition car.

Team C infrared temperature gun

Team C now have an infrared temperature gun available. The device offers a large LC display and a specially shaped sensor head that helps to insert the gun into the engine’s cooling head for precise temperature measurement in the glow plug area. While being of good use for nitro racers, the gun also comes in handy to control the temperature of electric motors and speed controllers as well as tyres and electric equipment. The gun comes with a handy Team C branded transportation bag.
