Capricorn LAB C8SR 1/8th electric kit – Coming soon

Coming soon from Italian company Capricorn is the LAB C8SR 1/8th 4WD electric on-road kit. The manufacturer’s first 1/8th scale electric-powered pan car was developed for the new 1/8th stock class and it features rigid suspension components and a single speed transmission. The car is currently under development with more details being announced once things near completion but for now the kit seems to stand out for its very narrow chassis design and the in-line dual 2S shorty LiPo battery mount.

SWorkz introduce new OS-made glow plugs

SWorkz have introduced two new Turbo-style glow plugs made by O.S. Engines. Coming under the SWorkz brand is the ST3, an off-road glow plug similar to the O.S. R3, while the SPower brand ST7 on-road plug is comparable to the O.S. PR7. Both are available in several packing formats from now on.

Bowie Ginting wins Indonesian Touring Nats Rd1

The opening round of Indonesian 1/10 Electric On-road National Championship was held at the Giant Arena Circuit in South Borneo. A huge 75×40 meters asphalt track, inside an asphalt mixing facility, attracted 50 racers who joined the primary Modified class in medium high traction conditions. Racing-wise it was the defending national champion, Bowie Ginting, who scored an early two TQ points to secure himself the pole position while Suwardi Suliandy took the 3rd round to start from 2nd on the grid followed by Chandra Yosef on P3. In the mains it was again Bowie who led the proceedings, taking the overall victory from Yosef and Suliandy.

Modelix Racing sign Kilic brothers

Modelix Racing from Spain have announced the signing of Germany’s off-road frontrunners Burak and Berkan Kilic to their team. The two will be using Nitrolux fuel and Ultimate Racing accessories and in addition they will be supported by German Modelix Racing distributor JSB Modellsport.

Micha Widmaier doubles in Leonberg

The annual 1/10th Electric Off-road race in Leonberg, Germany was held recently and it was SWorkz’s Micha Widmaier with the double TQ in the 2WD and 4WD Buggy classes. Winning all six A-main events secured Micha a double win for a clean sweep with Yokomo’s Aaron Münster taking the runner-up spots in both classes. Team C’s Sven Zünd would round out the 2WD podium while Xray’s Ales Schmitt completed the 4WD top 3.

Lutz dominates EP Buggy in China

Completely dominating the Electric Buggy class here at the SIGP in Xiamen, southern China, Ryan Lutz took all qualifiers and the first two of 3 A-mains to wrap up the overall win early. In a league of his own, the winning margin after 5 minutes for the Tekno driver over 2nd place Yusuke Sugiura was 11 seconds in the first main, and 7 seconds over Sunpadow backed Kaja Novotny in the 3rd main. With the US driver sitting out A3, Sugiura would take the win in the final A-main to secure the runner up spot, while a disappointed Kaja took the final spot on the podium in 3rd place. Chen Guanxian, Jonathan Yeung and Chinese National Champion Hu Weiping would complete the top 6.

SWorkz S35-3 series swaybar sets

Coming from SWorkz and made for the S35-3 series kits are front and rear swaybar sets. The front kit includes a total of eight different anti-roll bar wire, from 2.0mm up to 2.8mm, while the rear set compromises of six different wires from 2.4mm up to 3.0mm. The wires sport laser-engraved markings for easy identification and they are a direct fit on all S35-3 vehicles.

Davis crowned FEMCA 1:8 Onroad Champion

Jesse Davis is the new FEMCA 1:8 Onroad Champion, the popular Australian leading an all Infinity podium at the Asian Championships that was this year hosted by the Tom Racing Circuit in Hong Kong. Focusing their efforts on 1:8 for the event, the World Champion manufacturer got the weekend off to a strong start with Naoto Matsukura taking his IF18 to the fastest time in the opening qualifier. The Japanese star went on to rule proceedings taking 4 of the 5 rounds of qualifying with team-mate Davis the only other driver to post a TQ run. With Matsukura Top Qualifier, Davis joined him as a direct qualifier for the final by winning Super Pole. Taking victory in his Semi Final, Takaaki Shimo joined them for what was to prove a tough 45-minute final. With multiple lead changes between the Infinity trio, at the end it was Davis who came out on top 3.5-seconds in front of Shimo. Having to make a late tyre stop while holding the lead, Matsukura completed the podium a further 6-seconds back.
