2013 JConcepts Dirt Invert – Announcement

The 2013 Dirt Invert is brought to you by JConcepts and hosted by the One Hobbies off-road track in Peoria, Arizona. The main event format is unique and offers something different for the racers. Triple mains will be used for the A-main drivers and single extended mains with bump-ups will be used for all other mains. The Invert, something developed by Brian Kinwald and the JConcepts team, will challenge racers by changing the starting order based on the finishing order in the previous main. It’s simple, start your first A-main where you qualified and the mains after will be started in the inverse order of how you finished the main before. Points from all three mains will be used to determine the overall winner so performance in each main is important. Speed and strategy is a must and the driver must keep it cool to score the best finish possible in each main. The invert format is developed and endorsed by IFMAR World Champion Brian “Dirt” Kinwald. Much More Racings’s Power Station 2 multi distributor is designed to enlarge the amount of 12V outputs available on any power supply. They sport three switching ports, two direct ports and a 5V/1A USB port to power chargers, pit lamps, mobile devices and more. Featuring a sturdy metal casing and crocodile clamp input connectors the boxes are available in your choice of black or blue colour.

Lee Martin joins Viper RC

Following yesterday’s announcement that Lee Martin had joined A-Main Hobbies, Viper RC have today announced that the multiple European and British National Champion will be joining Viper R/C Solutions. Starting this weekend at the Kidderminster National Lee’s cars will feature Viper products. Viper had this to say about the deal “After successfully testing our products Lee decided to join the Viper team. Both parties are excited to develop our relationship and products moving forward. Look for Lee and Viper products at major events including the IFMAR World Championships later this year.”

Team C T8 V3 Conversion kit

Team C have announced the new T8 V3 Conversion kit to bring the V2 up to the latest specs. The set includes a new chassis plate, new radio box with forward positioned battery, new captured lower brackets with a complete set of inserts for toe and squat adjustments as well a new front upper steering plate. The kit is finished off with a newly designed cab forward body shell with large rear scoop.

Hudy XB4 aluminium shim for setup system

Hudy have released this aluminum shim for the XB4 which fits on the rear wheel axle, and the set-up system leans against the shim. For use with XRAY XB4 or any off-road car on which the set-up system cannot be inserted on the non-threaded part. The set-up system will then sit properly on the threaded area of rear wheel axles only.

Rob Gillespie triple at April Fools Classic

For the 25th year in a row, the April Fools Classic has been a staple in the electric off-road racing community. Boasting “the best dirt on earth,” the Intermountain R/C Raceway located just outside of Salt Lake City, UT brought together over 200 entries vying for a title across a wide spectrum of classes. In the top classes of 2WD and 4WD Modified it was Team Associated/Reedy/LRP’s Rob Gillespie Jr. that brought home the TQ and victory with his B4.2 Factory Team and B44.2 Factory Team, both were Reedy/LRP equipped vehicles. Joining him in the winner’s circle was Scott Brown and his SC10 4×4 Factory Team, again equipped with Reedy/LRP electronics.

Martin is not only one of Europe’s top racers, but he is also one of the most-respected. Martin’s decorated resume includes 6 national championships, 4 European Championships and 4 IFMAR World Championship finals. You’ll be able to catch Martin racing with his new ProTek RC gear and A Main Hobbies threads at the BRCA National series as well as the Worlds, Euros and other major international events.

The 2013 JConcepts Spring Indoor Nationals is quickly approaching (19th – 21st April). The first of its kind, the Indoor National Series sponsored by JConcepts will converge in Carrollton, TX, for the 2nd leg of the popular series. For the 2nd year in a row, Mike’s Hobby Shop will host the Spring event and with entries expected to reach a peak capacity, Steven Hartson will look to defend his 2012 titles against some of the nation’s best drivers. Winter round 1 TQ and champion Ryan Maifield, fresh off his Cactus Classic success, will attend the Texas event for the very first time looking to take on last year’s champion Steven Hartson, as well as Team Associated teammate Brent Thielke and challengers from TLR include Dustin Evans, JR Mitch and Taylor Larsen.
