Cseko, Timar & Varsanyi win Rd7 in Hungary

The 7th and penultimate round of the Hungarian Onroad Championships was held in Pecs last weekend. The club cleaned and sugar-watered the track for this event so the grip was there right from the beginning. This time the direction of the track has changed from regular anti-clockwise to clockwise which was a but tricky in the beginning for mechanics during refueling. The layout is fast and flowing with only one harpin corner and the weather was nice all weekend, around 25°C and no winds.

CRC Xti 1/12th scale chassis

Seen at this Summer’s World Championships and building on the winning heritage from the multi-Champion Gen-XL and Xi, the new Xti (Transverse or Inline) from CRC elevates 1:12th scale racing to the next level offering new and exciting features. The Xti features true inline battery configuration with a full size 1s IFMAR/ROAR battery pack. Unlike the some of the off-center ‘longitudinal battery pack designs’ that have popped up, CRC’s true inline configuration yields total balance and symmetry. Also new on the Xti, CRC’s infinitely adjustable Slider Rear Pod. The Slider Pod is a full aluminum motor pod with infinitely adjustable rear ride height. The Xti continues with their dual damper tube design and leads the way with the best-in-class rear damper, the CRC Encore shock.

The Swedish Nationals for 1/10 EP, GP and 1/8 GP cars was held at the beautiful Väst-8 facilities in Gothenburg, Sweden. Over 80 entries from Sweden, Norway and Denmark had made their way to this race. Most racers arrived already on Friday to get some track time before racing started on Saturday morning. Cool and windy conditions on Saturday made track conditions a bit unpredictable, but in the end, some very quick lap times were put in. In 1/10 GP, Mikael Fransson (Serpent/Orcan) was TQ in front of Alexander Hagberg (Xray/Orcan), followed by Norwegian Capricorn driver Adrian Berntsen and the Swedish Serpent/OS driver Per-Ola Hård. In the 1/8 class it was the very fast Niklas Johansson from Stockholm who set the TQ time with his Xray/Orcan combo. Michele Romagnoli wins 2012 Novarossi Trophy

Shepherd sent this short report from Samuele Romagnoli about the international Novarossi Trophy which took place in Fiorano. “We arrived at the track on Friday and although there was rain predicted it was a sunny day. We fired up our Sonic engine and immediately our Velox V8 was fast as the setup was nearly perfect. The only thing to decide was the body to use: the Protoform P909 had a little bite more steering, but the new R18 was a little bit easier to drive. Therefore we did a lot of tests with the bodies and tyres. The Sonic motor was immediately running perfectly at very low temperatures combining a good fuel consumption and a high top speed.

The seventh round of the 2012 BRCA national championship was hosted by the Halifax circuit in West Yorkshire, the host club for the 2013 European A Championship. The entry was low compared to the previous rounds but this was due to this meeting being rescheduled after the track was flooded earlier in the season. At the top of the Championship is Tim Wood who had a comfortable lead over Andy North, but the threat would come from Branson and Green who can overtake the current leader if they cement podium finishes over the remaining 3 rounds.
