Robin d’Hondt wins Dutch 2nd round

Round 2 of the Dutch 1/8th scale nationals was held last weekend on the fast MAC de Baanbrekers track in Rucphen, and fast it was, on the Saturday the fast guys like Van Gastel, d’Hondt, Ermen and Rick V were driving laps under 13.0 seconds giving an example how the competition will be. On Sunday it was dry but the track was still a bit slippery at some points because of the rain the night before which caused a lot of braking problems and one or two serious crashes and the track was for sure not as fast as on…

Rick V wins Dutch 1/8th NK Rd1

The opening round of the Dutch 1/8th scale season took place at the weekend on the fast Rucphen track in the south west of the country. The day started with some fog in the air which gave the engines a lot of power, and this made the first heat the quickest for many drivers. Rick V was on a super quick run, but he had to stop for fuel and this allowed John Ermen, who was driving more conservatively and so didn’t need to stop, take the pole spot by a second in front of Rick, with last years NOMAC…

Rick V wins Dutch 8th Nats Rd3

The 3rd round of the 1/8th scale on road Nationals took place at the weekend on the very fast Baanbrekers in Rucphen. The day started on a somber note with a 1 minute silence to remember Belgian racer Koen Joosens and a well known Dutch driver Raymond Soyer who was killed recently during his job as a fireman. Qualification on Sunday started on a wet track and only the 3rd run of heats saw dry track conditions, making this by far the fastest round. Only John Ermen was able to set a 23 lap qualification on his home track to…

John Ermen wins Rd2 Dutch Nationals

Last weekend saw the 2nd round of the Dutch 1/8th scale National Championship return to the venue of the first round of the series, Rucphen in the south west of Holland. In a repeat performance from the first round it was John Ermen, driving for Serpent, that took the top spot in qualifying as the only driver to hit 23 laps followed by Rick V for Mugen in 2nd. In the race itself it was a pretty easy run for John until a coming together with slowing team mate Rob Kuijper forced John into the pits to fix his body…

John Ermen wins Rd1 Dutch Nationals

Last weekend saw the opening round of the 2007 Dutch Nationals take place at the very fast Rucphen track in the south west of the country. The event played host to the 2 Dutch National 1/8th scale classes, the NK class for the top guys and the Nomac class for slightly slower drivers or newcomers. In the NK class it was local driver and Serpent racer John Ermen that took the win ahead of another local driver and top international, Rick Vrielijnck racing for Mugen in what was a blisteringly quick event, with lap times 7 tenths of a second…
