Xray have announced the soon release of the XB4 2018 edition 1/10th scale electric 4WD buggy. As usual no official details are available in advance but we bring you all information on the ’18 edition of the EOS-winning platform as soon as it becomes available.

RC-Lemans Series Rd6 – Report

The sixth and final round of the 2017 RC-Lemans Series was held recently at the Dutch Velp track. The race for the overall championship titles in the LMP1 Modified and LMP2 Stock classes was still wide open and it was the first time in the 12-years long history of the series that three drivers would battle for the title at the final round. In LMP1 reigning champion, Tim Altmann set the pace in Q1 while Kai Altmann came out fastest in Q2. Timo Schad secured himself the final qualifier with the fastest time in front of Tobias Weist meaning that all title favourites would make it into the top 3 after the qualifiers.

Abrahamek crowned Czech national 200mm champ

The Czech National 200mm Championship recently concluded with the fifth and final round and it was Michal Abrahamek who took the overall title. Ending three rounds of the championship on top of the podium earned Michal the title as Michael Jansa and Pavel Jansa snatched the final podium spots.

Gary Huang TQs & wins at HKRCSA race

The HKRCSA race was held at the Tom Racing Circuit in Hong Kong recently. Xray’s Gary Huang, who entered the race to prepare for the forthcoming Xiamen Grand Prix, took the overall 1/8th nitro class TQ after the rain-shortened qualifiers. In the main final Gary would lead from tone to tone to bring home the win from Capricorn driver Luk Chi Hung and Mugen’s Lai Hay.

Exotek XT2 5mm carbon fibre shock towers

Made for Xray’s XT2 2WD stadium truck are new 5mm carbon fibre shock towers from Exotek. Cut from USA-made glossy-finish 5mm material the towers are light of weight and they offer a more consistent handling especially on high-grip surfaces compared to the standard composite parts. The towers match the stock geometry and are available as front, rear laydown and rear standard gearbox variant – the latter two include mounting hardware and utilise countersunk screws to keep the tower squared up on the gearbox and tweak-free when used with the supplied csk hardware.

Muchmore Fleta ZX V2 aluminium screw sets

Muchmore have introduced aluminium screw sets for their range of Fleta ZX V2 brushless motors. Including three long fasteners for the case and three short countersunk screws for the timing cap, the sets not only are about 65 percent lighter, thanks to being non-magnetic they also increase the overall RPM and performance of the motor compared to the standard steel screws. The sets are available in orange, red or gun metal anodising.

Bill Lykaris takes Greek national 1/10th 200mm title

Last weekend the fifth round of the Greek national on-road championship took place at the famous Fanatix Racing Track located in the north of Athens. In the 1/10th Nitro category Bill Lykaris (Shepherd) came out fastest, setting the pace all weekend and winning the race in front of John Sotiropoulos (Mugen) and Vaggelis Totomis (Capricorn) who completed the podium in 2nd and 3rd respectively. With three wins and two runner-up spots Bill already took the national title before the last race and he will be crowned the national champion at the forthcoming final round.

2017 International Indoor Championships – Report

The 2017 edition of the International Indoor Championships was held at the Westgate Resort and Casino, for the second consecutive time. As usual the event attracted the the fastest electric on-road racers from the US as well as a lot of guests from abroad and in the premier Touring Modified class it was Germany’s Ronald Völker with the win from Sweden’s Alexander Hagberg and Japan’s Naoko Akiyama.
