RC Maker A800X Med Flex Link

RC Maker’s Med Flex Link is a custom built, machined ball link system that provides the front or rear of the A800X touring car with a medium flex option. It allows the bulkheads to flex independently but not together, bracing the front and/or rear of the topdeck under acceleration and braking, yet still allowing it to move sideways in cornering. This provides increased forward traction and stability when used at the rear, and increased braking grip and turn in when used at the front. It also features an integrated belt tensioning system, allowing to run the belts looser for less rolling resistance, whilst still maintaining longevity and reliability. Thee links have all individually been custom machined and fitted to the car to ensure a precision fit and smooth action. They work with both the C27X standard top deck and the VTD vertical top deck. However, they will only provide a substantial handling effect when the braces on the VTD are cut, to allow the flex link to work.

West Coast R/C Works BCE 1/12th body support

Coming from West Coast R/C Works is their new Black Carpet Edition front body support for most 1/12th scale pan car kits. The part was designed to prevent body scrub of 1/12th pan cars in high speed corners and on the straightway an issue that is generated by the air going over the body and bending the nose down until it touches the surface. The outcome of this is a reduced top and corner speed, and it even can lift the front wheels off the track. This is where the body support kicks in as it is designed to tackle this problem by supporting the nose of the body. It will reduce the body scrub to a bare minimum and allows to mount the body lower as before. The 1/12 body support is available in two versions, as 35 degree or 60 degree variant, and 3-D-printed from nylon. In 35-degree and 60-degree. The 35-degree version is designed for a body with a low angled nose like the AMR and the 60-degree version is made to support a body with a short nose like the BMR. The part is available in black and white from West Coast R/C Works’ Shapeways store and selected dealerships.

Kyosho tease new off-road truck

Kyosho have been busy in the last couple of weeks, releasing teasing videos of forthcoming kits, one of which will be the re-release of the iconic Javelin 1/10th 4WD buggy. In a new video the Japanese company now allows a first sight on their “Project 2RSA” that appears to be some sort of a vintage baja truck given the front suspension design and old-school-ish body shell. No other information is available for now beside what is visible in the video.

Capricorn TE-03 V4 big bore shock absorbers

Coming from Capricorn and made for their TE-03 electric touring car are the V4 big bore shock absorbers. The shock body and shaft are 2mm shorter than the previous version, while the pistons feature a lip on their inner lower side to avoid the suction effect when they hit the bottom of the case, resulting in a more linear response. Used in combination with specific shock towers, the V4 shocks are meant to be used on carpet as they should increase the car’s responsiveness.
