Serpent 966 Link system

Serpent 966 Link system

Seen at the World Championships last year, as well as other races, the new Serpent link system for their 966 chassis is now available. Consisting of 2 trackrods that connect the radio plate to the radio plate bracket, this allows the two parts, which were previously fixed together, to move separately of each other which allows the user to create and control the flex in the car. This upgrade requires that you have the latest radio plate bracket in which the required hole in the X shape has already been created, however it is a simple modification for those that don’t have this. Available at the end of April.

Kyle Branson wins BRCA 200mm Nats Rd1

Kyle Branson wins BRCA 200mm Nats Rd1

The first round of the BRCA 200mm nationals was held at Stonehaven in Scotland last weekend where the Muchmore GP is usually held and reigning champion Kyle Branson sent us this report. Despite severe weather warnings the weather wasn’t too bad. Saturday was a wet start but eventually dried out after a few hours. The grip wasn’t too bad to start off with but gradually increased throughout the day. Our main aim was to try and lower tire wear, due to the nature of the track it was very high. My car was good all day Saturday and I managed to set the fastest lap just ahead of Adam Catchpole. Practice finished at 6:00pm and just after, the rain had started which lead to a wet Sunday morning. In the first round of qualifying everybody had to make a decision on what tire to use and most people went on a rubber tire. I set TQ just ahead of Adam Catchpole in second and Joe Kerry in third, In the second round the track was drying rapidly and I made a wrong choice on tires and Joe Kerry took pole just ahead of Johnathan Dobney. In the third round the track was basically dry and everybody was on normal dry tires. I set TQ on 20 laps with Joe Kerry in second on a fast 19 and Johnathan Dobney a couple of seconds behind him. In the final round I didn’t improve my time due to a mistake and the top 3 stayed the same.

Euro Touring Series introduces Spec Speedo for Pro Stock

ETS Introduces Spec Speedo for Pro Stock

Our sport has seen some great advances in technology over the past few seasons.  The introduction of brushless motors and LiPo batteries has made the sport a more level playing field and a lot more user friendly.  Lately however the pace of electronic development has outpaced the sport for many with the latest Stock Spec Speedos become a major talking point.  During our most recent events in the Czech Republic and Poland it was very easy to see that racing was being determined by the latest speedo rather than the individual ability of each driver and after racing it was clear that this was taking the fun out of our events for the majority of the Pro-Stock racers who have traveled across Europe with us to be a part of the Euro Touring Series.
