Xray Racing Series Greece Rd4 – Report

The 4th round of the Xray Racing Series Greece was held at the Fanatix Racing Track in very hot weather conditions. Despite the perfect beach party weather a lot of racers gathered to attend the race that was held in several electric and nitro classes. In the premier Touring Modified class it was Papachristos (Xray) with the TQ and win in all finals. The 2nd place went to newcomer Vasilopoulos (Tamiya) in front of Diamadis (Xray) who for once did not suffer from mechanical or electrical issues.

Traxxas 4-Tec 2.0 Mustang GT RTR kit

Traxxas’ 4-Tec 2.0 all-wheel drive chassis is soon also available with a Mustang GT body shell. Taking the proven 4-Tec name to the next level the shaft-driven 4WD chassis is of a modular design, making maintenance and tuning a breeze. The wide tub chassis allows for massive space for the sealed receiver box, waterproof motor, speed controller, steering servo and battery while rigid suspension parts with pre-set geometry make the best out of the semi-slick high-grip tyres. The sealed, hardened steel bevel limited slip differentials allow the use of high-performance option motors with the kit coming with a standard 550-size 12T brushed variant. Included in the ready-to-run package is also a TQi 2.4GHz radio system and a Traxxas 7-cell NiMH battery. The kit is rounded out by an officially licensed Ford Mustang GT body shell.

X Factory carbide diff balls 14-piece pack

X Factory’s popular carbide diff balls are now also available in a 14-piece pack. Using the 3/32″ grade 10 carbide balls will result in smoother diffs with less ring wear, so they hold adjustment better and last longer between re-builds. Grade 10 carbide balls also have fewer surface imperfections than the standard grade 25 carbide ball. The new 14-piece pack will sell alongside the already existing 12-ball package.

Protoform VTA front & rear tyres

Following a first teaser Protoform have officially announced their first ever tyre, the new spec tyre for US Vintage Trans Am Racing. It is fully-approved for USVTA Racing and fully-capable on any surface such as carpet, prepared asphalt or parking lots. Utilising a super long-lasting compound and moulding technology perfected by Protoform’s partners at Pro-Line Racing. On high-grip CRC carpet, the tyres have been tested to provide an easy-to-drive handling feel and comparable lap times to previous VTA tires, all without the need for superglued sidewalls while on asphalt, the tyres grip well with additives and provide realistic tyre screeching sounds for an ultra-scale effect. The tyres are sold in pairs and are a direct fit on both HPI Vintage wheels and the upcoming Protoform VTA wheels. Included with the tyres, that come as 26mm front and 31mm rear variant, are gray open-cell foam inserts.

Protoform brings Corvette Racing’s championship heritage to USGT class racing with the officially-licensed Corvette C7.R race body. From the signature Corvette muscular stance and swept-back roofline, to the large front splitter and side vents, every detail of the full-scale race car is captured to add scale realism to the world of 1:10 scale 190mm touring cars. The extensive decal sheet helps to deck out the biddy with Corvette branded windshield headers, “Jake” skull hood logo, number plates, and USA flags. Included with the body is an add-on rear wing with the USGT-sanctioned 10mm trim height, nylon wing struts, and mounting hardware. The body fits popular 190mm touring cars and is formed from high quality .030″ polycarbonate.

Ultimate Racing turnbuckle & nut wrench

Coming from Ultimate Racing is their new turnbuckle and nut wrench. Small and lightweight it is designed for 3mm, 4mm, 5mm, 5.5mm, 7mm and 8mm hardware with the steel material making for high durability. Laser-etched markings help with easy identification while the black surface treatment further increases wear resistance.
