TLR driver Darren Bloomfield holds the overnight Buggy Top Qualifier honour at the Arena Offroad Meeting in Voghera, Italy, after securing his second TQ run of the day in the third of the four scheduled qualifiers with team-mate Yannick Aigoin the only one capable of denying him in tomorrow morning’s final round of heats.

Having taken a year out so as to avoid a clash with last November’s 1:8 Offroad World Championships in Thailand, Italy’s leading international offroad event is back and has taken over from the cowboys again with defending champion Yannick Aigoin opening qualifying with TQ runs in both Buggy and Truggy. The third running of the Offroad Meeting at the Arena Rodeo ring, which is situated 1- hours drive south of Milan, the two biggest changes to the indoor event are the weather and new title sponsorship from Sweep tyres.

Team Durango got in touch to show us a couple of teaser pictures of the upcoming DEX408 1/8 scale electric off-road buggy. The purpose-designed buggy achieved a good string of results in the hands of Team Durango’s Ryan Lutz who piloted a production-spec DEX408 during the last couple of weeks. Expect more pictures and information to be released very soon.

LRP release the 30x30mm motor fan with aluminium mounting clamp. The compact unit fits nearly all brushed and brushless 540-size motors and helps to lowered the operation temperature and thus enhances the overall performance and motor life. The fan is powered via an unused output channel on the vehicle’s receiver.

dBoots have a new tyre on the way and the company got in touch to give us a a sneaky preview. The Nanobyte is designed for multi-surface indoor off-road racing and features a unique tread pattern featuring micro pins and slightly larger step-up pins. The tyres are available soon for 1/10th scale 2WD and 4WD buggies as well as and Short Course trucks.

The fourth and final round of the North East Super Series took place at the Barnstormers RC Raceway in Chester, New York. In 1/8 Nitro Buggy Jamie Grayek was able to take TQ honours and secure overall Win in Points Series with Jimmyjames taking a 2nd and Jeff Legassy rounding out the top 3. With the main race set to be 30 minutes it would prove to be a battle with multiple lead changes. Problems for Grayek early in the race would allow Serpent’s Stephen Plackis to lead out followed by Jay Bless of RC-NYC, Kyosho’s Jimmyjames and Serpent’s Jay Livingstone. Around the 5 minutes mark a wheel to wheel battle would brew between Plackis and Bless with Jimmyjames and Livingstone in tow. Plackis and Bless would swap the lead multiple times with Jimmyjames still running in 3rd and Livingstone running 4Th. Around the 15 minute mark car contact between the leaders would slow them down allowing Jimmyjames to take the lead. He would lead out with heavy pressure from Bless and Plackis but would not look back and was able to take the Win with Bless, Plackis and Livingstone in tow.
Schumacher now have in stock extra strong belts for various models in their range. These belts offer greater life than standard kit belts but with a slight drop in efficiency and are more effective when using gear diffs or running on high grip surfaces such as Astro. Available for the Mi3/Mi4 (rear belt) and Cat SX3 (front & middle belt).

The Hi-Clearance wing incorporates several important elements making it the most versatile wing yet. JConcepts has joined the high-performance wing into a paired combination that is easier to trim, detail and finish and each performance wing package now includes 2 wings for added value to the customer. The Hi-Clearance feature provides extra clearance for the expansion of tires during high acceleration points and especially on high speed straight-aways and also allows for full suspension movement during hard landings and full compression during cornering.
