Daniel Kobbevik wins 2WD class at Summer Cup

OMK Raceway in Oslo recently held the popular Summer Cup on their tight and challenging astro turf track. Nice and warm weather made for good racing conditions and in the 2WD class it was newly signed Xray driver, Daniel Kobbevik who took the TQ with the Yokomo duo of Petter Berntsen and Steffen Larsen lining up in 2nd and 3rd on the grid. In the opening A-main things looked a bit different though with Daniel having a bobble in the opening stages that resulted in a popped front link, allowing Petter to win the leg in front of Steffen Larsen and Roger Berntsen.

Ielasi Tuned GT9 & GT5 nitro engines

Ielasi Tuned have introduced their all-new Nitro GT9 and updated Rally GT5 nitro GT and Rally Game engines. Starting with the GT9, the power plant is based on the Nitro.21-9WCE and it features a new cooling head, a new crankcase and tuned 14.5mm crankshaft for optimised performance. It was designed for the use with 16 percent to 25 percent nitro fuel and it comes with an aluminium venturi insert set. As for the GT5, the engine comes with a redesigned cooling head, 14mm turbo-tuned crankshaft and a ceramic rear ball bearing. The Novarossi-based engines come pre-run-in and are made from selected and modified parts, ensuring best possible performance.

Serpent Project 4X short rear link set

Coming from Serpent and made for the Project 4X touring car is a short rear link set. Made for the standard RRS system the shorter links provided result in increased rear end grip which is beneficial for both modified and stock racing and it works on both low and high grip surfaces. The set includes all needed parts and it is available very soon.

Yeah Racing T4 adjustable aluminium LiPo mount set

Yeah Racing have introduced an aluminium LiPo mount set for the Xray T4 series of touring cars. The kit includes adjustable aluminium mounting brackets that allow to shift the battery back forth and back to achieve different weight bias configurations. The included hook and loop battery strap makes for swift and easy battery swaps while also being light of weight. The set is available in orange or black anodising.

Exotek 1/8th motor fan clamp-on set

Coming from Exotek is a motor fan clamp-on set for most of today’s 1/8th scale electric brushless motors. The mounting bracket has multi-mount features that allow the fan to be angled or parallel with the motor can. The mount is designed for use with high power 40mm and 30mm fans and it is machined from high-quality aluminium and available in anodised black, blue or orange colour. The clamp fits all motors with a diameter surface of 39.5mm to 40.5mm.

Nuno Duraes wins Portuguese 1/8th On-road Nats Rd3

The third round of the Portuguese 1/8th On-road National Championship was hosted by the popular Coimbra track last weekend. After the qualifying José Félix took the overall TQ, but in the main final it was Nuno Durães (Mugen Seiki/Team Orion/Nitrolux/HotRace) who laid down a strong performance from tone to tone, winning with a 4-lap margin on Carlos Rodrigues (Xray/Picco/RunnerTime/HotRace) and Solange Araújo (Mugen Seiki/Novarossi/Nitrolux/HotRace) in 2nd and 3rd respectively.

Mugen unveil MTC1 electric touring car kit

Following a couple of teasing images and videos Mugen have officially unveiled the forthcoming MTC1 1/10th 4WD electric touring car kit. Developed and track-tested for more than a year the kit will be released at the end of July and it will utilise a dual belt drive train, an “intelligent” caster adjustment system, zero tweak flex system, adjustable body positioning, ultra low profile big bore shocks with adjustable shock piston and oil viscosity markings, front double joint drive shafts, hard coated aluminium rear drive shafts, low friction pulleys, ball raced sway bars, one piece motor mount, fully adjustable narrow steering system, aerodynamic front bumper, and a fully adjustable suspension in terms of camber, toe, caster, wheelbase, track width, roll centre, diff/spool height, and steering angle. Also included are an aluminium rear gear differential with heatsink housing, oil volume and oil viscosity markings. The kit is rounded out by an aerodynamic front bumper with vent openings for optimised front end grip in high speed corners.
