JConcepts Spring INS7 – Announcement

Now in its 7th year, the JConcepts Indoor National Series has become the United States’ premier indoor offroad racing series and for 2017, the INS has once again raised the bar even further. With the huge success of the kickoff race at Smac Trac that featured superstar Ryan Maifield and rising star Alex Koscuiszek going on to win the 2WD and 4WD Modified class, the Spring INS heads to the Pacific NW; home of RC legend and track owner, Scott Brown. With the main “A” list factory drivers already confirmed for the event, the Spring INS7 will be the most star-studded event in the series’ 7 year history. Making the flight from Michigan, six members of the Factory Tracks Racing team including the Horne family and stock standout, Dreighton Stoub, adding to the talented pool of racers attending. Coupled with the tremendous amount of local fast cats at TRCR like Luke Smith, Ryan Matesa, and Harley Yoshii, May 19th to 21st is going to be a historic weekend in Tacoma. Volker tops seeding at ETS Italy

Ronald Volker is the top seed for the Yokomo Euro Touring Series in Italy.  Having set the fastest time in the opening controlled practice, the Yokomo driver bettered his time in the second round when wind caused many drivers, including Volker, issues. Behind the World Champion, Jilles Groskamp would find a big improvement over his opening practice to set the second fastest time to demote his Infinity team-mate Marc Rheinard to third.  With Rheinard and Viktor Wilck failing to go quicker in the final practice, Akio Sobue would be the next driver to improve going from P8 in CP1 to P5.  The Japanese driver’s improvement would drop last year’s winner Bruno Coelho to sixth, the Xray driver believing additive is the reason for him being off the pace.

Rusti Design B64 carbon fibre option parts

Following their extensive line of carbon fibre option parts for the Team Associated B6 series of buggies, French brand Rusti Design has introduced several option parts for the B64 4WD kit. First up are a carbon fibre front shock tower as well as standard and tall rear shock towers. The standard parts match the kit geometry while the taller rear shock tower was developed for the use with longer 31mm shock body dampers.

Volker fastest in first controlled practice

Ronald Volker has set the fastest time in the opening round of controlled practice at ETS Italy. The Yokomo driver set the fastest 3-consecutive laps of the Riccione track ahead of Marc Rheinard with the big surprise being Viktor Wilck, the Serpent driver going third quickest.  Having set the pace over the 7 rounds of free practice from Rheinard & Volker, Bruno Coelho would post the fourth fastest time on the first of the two attempts drivers will have to determine the seeding for qualifying.  Returning to racing after a short illness, Viljami Kutvonen would post the 5th fastest time with Nicolas Lee completing the Top 6.

Tasos Paparegas wins at Northpark race

The Northpark track in Greece recently held an electric off-road race and it was Xray’s Tasos Paparegas who walked away with the win in the 4WD buggy class. Tasos would make a clean sweep, winning all qualifiers and finals to grab the day’s win from Xray team mate Kiprianidis in 2nd and Yokomo driver Mitsiopoulos in 3rd.
