Arrowmax have introduced three new taper tools in their signature black and golden honeycomb design. Available as M3, M4 and M5 variant, the tools allow to pre-tap mounting threads in mostly plastic and composite materials in order to make for easier assembly while producing longer lasting threads. The tools are available separately from now on.

The Panik Team Troisdorf has announced the 2nd Annual Panik Grand Prix for the weekend of the 4th of June. The race will be held at the club’s recently refurbished astroturf track in the three classes of 2WD Modified Buggy, 4WD Modified Buggy as well as Stadium Truck – all three run according to current national DMC rules. Coming from Flash Point and made for the Mugen MBX7 series of nitro off-road vehicles is an extended engine mount. The part reduces chassis flex and increases clutch bell, spur gear, and clutch bearing life as the mount extends all the way to the fuel tank post to reduce flex in the clutch bell and spur gear area to provide more consistent power delivery. The reduced chassis flex also provides more consistent handling in all conditions. The engine mount fits the MBX7, 7R, 7T and 7TR.

Capricorn have introduced the new Sapporo ball bearing kits for the C803 1/8th scale car. Containing 18 Japan-made high-quality ABEC X grade ball races each, the kits are available for the “standard” and “lightweight” transmission configurations and they are meant to greatly reduce drivetrain friction and thus up acceleration, top speed and milleage.

The third round of the Texas Electric On-Road Series was held at NControl RC Raceway, site of the upcoming 2017 ROAR Electric On-Road Paved Nationals in Dale, Texas. The permanent track features smooth asphalt and wide flowing lanes that made for close racing across all 6 classes. The event produced record breaking turnouts, which made making a spot on the podium all the more challenging and rewarding. In the star-studded Modified Touring class, Chris Tosolini and Ralph Burch would trade TQ position back and forth over the opening three qualifying rounds, with Tosolini eventually securing TQ honors. In the A-main, Tosolini would lead wire-to-wire followed by Burch in second. The real battle took place between 5th place qualifier Cristian Tabush and 3rd place qualifier Chris Adams. Within the first few laps of the main, Tabush was able to jump from 5th to 3rd, where he would battle with Adams for the rest of the race swapping positions. In the end, Tabush would claim the final podium position.

Coming from JConcepts and made for the Team Associated B64 series of buggies are chassis protective decals. Pre-cut for a perfect fit the hard-wearing stickers protect the chassis bottom from becoming excessively scratched and damaged when running on abrasive surfaces. The application is slightly different on the B64 vehicle because of the low ground clearance and suspension design of the buggy. JConcepts made modifications to the sheet to help some peeling and tearing back of the corners of the material at the front edges of the chassis. This exposes chassis in this area but allows sheet to live another day on abrasive and surfaces constantly pulling against the sheet. Included in the package are two stickers and additional rear “skid plates”.
Capricorn have introduced two new Tesla-branded set-up stations for 1/8th and 1/10th nitro on-road cars. Both are made of black anodised 7075 aluminium and they come with laser-engraved markings for easy and precise wheel camber adjustments. Additional polycarbonate plates make front and rear toe settings a breeze. Both systems come in handy bags for convenient storage and transportation.
JConcepts now offers a 3-D-printed rear body mount for the Axial SMT10. The assembly is designed to be positioned further back which allows the use of a pick-up truck or flat-bed style body. The design includes three components, the mount bracket along with two body mount posts which are connected to the bracket. The kit installs using kit and optional hardware and it is available through JConcepts’ Shapeways store here.
