Coming from JConcepts and specially designed for the use of the 5400mAh Reedy Zappers shorty LiPo battery pack is a 3-D-printed compact battery brace for the Team Associated B6 and B6D. The compact battery brace was made for the racer that want the precise fit for a specific battery and the low-profile and neat installation using screw-down type fasteners. The low-profile aspect of this brace allows for more clearance between the body, brace and fastening system while being an adjustable and light-weight alternative to the stock unit. The brace is designed to fit the #27308 Reedy Zapper LiPo 5400mAh 70C 7.4V shorty and it is available through JConcepts’s Shapeways store.

Shepherd sign Eduardo Escandon

Shepherd have announced the signing of 2-times Spanish National Champion, Eduardo Escandon to their factory team. The Euro-A Vice-Champion and ENS A-main finalist will use the latest version of Shepherd’s Velox V10 in the upcoming season. Edu plans to attend all ENS events as well as the EC-A in Mulhouse/, France and he had the following to say:

First of all I would like to thank KM group for their support over the last few years, but now I feel it’s time for a change. I’m delighted to have the opportunity to work with such a great team like Shepherd and I’m sure that it will be a big step forward for me at International races. I tested the car for the first time at my home Club setting a new track record, that´s amazing! Last but not least, thanks to Patrick Schäfer for giving me this opportunity, I´m really looking forward to the upcoming season. See you at the track.

Team Bomber YRX12 high-capacity V2 side dampers

Japanese company Team Bomber has introduced the high-capacity V2 side tube damper conversion kit for Yokomo’s YRX12 pan car. Designed to replace the somewhat small friction units on Yokomo’s latest 1/12th pan car, the set includes new high-capacity dampers that not only offer an increased load capacity for improved high-speed and corner handling but they also reduce maintenance time as they need less frequent rebuilding. Included with the conversion also come updated carbon fibre braces as well as mounting hardware.

Team Magic E5 aluminium suspension arms

Coming from Team Magic and made for the E5 monster truck are upper and lower aluminium suspension arms. The range includes upper and lower arms, usable both front and rear, machined from high-quality aluminium and coming in black or titanium-colour anodising. Marc Ellissen wins Formula class at TOS Rd2

Last weekend the second round of the Tonisport Onroad Series West took place at the Racing Arena Limburg. 60 entries made for a nice weekend of racing and already during practice Marcel Ellissen showed a strong performance topping the time sheets in the strong Formula class in front of regular ETS A-main finalists Jacques Libar and Jitse Miedema. In the opening qualifier Ellissen was the only driver to score 23 laps to take the round TQ and he was also the only driver of the weekend with a sub-13 seconds lap in his class. With another win in round 4 he was able to secure himself the pole-position for the A-main. In the first A-final Ellisson took an easy win in front of Jacque Libar and Torsten Dreiszus. Also in the second A-main he managed to open a gap over his rivals crossing the finishing line some 5 seconds in front of Jitse Miedema and Jacque Libar to take the overall victory. As Libar took the win in the 3rd A-main he secured himself the runner-up spot with Miedema completing the podium.

Maverick Strada DC RTR drift car

German Maverick distributors LRP have introduced the Strada DC RTR drift car. Building on a sturdy 4WD shaft-driven composite tub chassis the car also features oil-filled shock absorbers, double wishbone suspension, an enclosed drivetrain as well as front and rear gear differentials. Included are also a strong steering servo, waterproof speed controller and a MM-22 540-class brushed motor along a pre-decorated bodyshell and special drift car tyres. The package is rounded out by a 2.4GHz radio system, a power pack and a suitable wall charger.

Mugen MBX7-series high-traction differential sets

Mugen Seiki have announced the soon release of four new gear differential sets for the MBX7 series of off-road and on-road cars. They come in three different front and rear diff gear sizes of 42T or 44T for the MBX7R and MGT7, as 46T set for the front and rear of the MBX7TR and also as 46T centre diff for the nitro buggy and truggy. All utilise updated 10T/20T internal gears that make for higher internal friction which can lead to improved traction while allowing the use of softer diff oils at the same time for better steering and bump track handling. All sets will become available by mid/end of January.
