Great Lakes Championship Series Rd3

We received a report from round 3 of the Great Lake Championships hosted by Gatineau Radio Control Club. In the pre race drama that unfolded GRC was forced to move locations from their track in Quebec. City officials decided at the last minute that a new location was in store but neglected to take into consideration the plans already developed. However Lee from Radio Active Hobbies came to the rescue and offered his track “weekend warrior raceway” in Desoronto Ontario.

Lee Martin wins 4wd at Belgian GP

Lee Martin wins 4wd at Belgian GP

As we reported earlier today, the Belgian GP for 1/10th electric buggies was being run this weekend at the Kampenhout track, near Brussels. Lee Martin took the 2wd win yesterday and showed again today, the form that has seen him head the 4wd BRCA Nationals standings, by taking the pole position ahead of Joern Neumann in 2nd place and Grant Williams in 3rd position. The race saw Lee take the overall class win with a win in the first round and a 2nd place in the 2nd round while Matthew White took a 4th in race 1 and a win race 2 to the take the 2nd place overall with Joern Neumann in 3rd place overall with a 9th in race 1 and a 3rd place in race 2.

Van Waayenburg wins Truggy.nl Cup Rd4

Last Saturday saw the 4th round of the Dutch Truggy.nl Cup run on the high traction 190 meter long MRCZ track in Ritthem, Holland. After 4 rounds of qualifyng it was Paul Geelen that took the TQ position with Mark van Waayenburg in 2nd joining him as the only 2 drivers placed directly into the finals. The 24-minute final saw a very close finish with the top 3 drivers finishing within seconds of each other with Mark van Waayenburg, with his Kyosho ST-R taking the win, with Hobao racer Henoc Luis in 2nd place and German Robitronic driver Thomas Rosenblatt finishing 3rd.

Team Azarashi Cyclone D4 towers

Team Azarashi Cyclone D4 towers

Japanese company, Team Azarashi, have announced the future release of these shock towers for the Hot Bodies Cyclone D4. Made from 4mm thick carbon fiber, they will be made available for both the front and rear, and judging by the design they look to be extremely strong. In addition to the basic settings, that are carried accross from the original parts, the rear tower also features the ability to mount the rear wing at two different heights.

Lee Martin wins 2wd at Belgian GP

This weekend sees the annual Belgian GP for off road electric buggies take place at the Kampenhout track in the middle of the country, near Brussels. Sundays running will be for the 4wd class but Saturday was for 2wd and in qualifying for this class it was a close battle between eventual pole man Lee Martin from the UK, and young German racer Joern Neumann who finished 2nd, both racers running the Associated B4, while 3rd place qualifier was X-Factory X6 driver Ellis Stafford. In the 3 finals it was Martin that showed his class to take the overall win, ahead of Ellis Stafford in 2nd and Neumann in 3rd, after a problem in the first final dropped him way down the results.

Team ART X1 Prototype buggy

Team ART X1 Prototype buggy

At the start of this week we showed you a picture of the new prototype X1 buggy, which is a conversion kit based on the Academy SB-V2 4wd buggy. Well today more information and pictures were released from the Korean company and it turns out that this buggy will be ready to be raced at this years IFMAR World Championship in Japan in September. We presume the car will be piloted by a Korean racer but that has yet to be announced. In the meantime you can have a look  at some close up pictures of the buggy and admire all the carbon fibre and purple anodising.
