Viktor Wilck wins at Swedish Cup Rd3

Round three of the Swedish Cup was held this past weekend with about 60 drivers making their entry. The track was laid out using the popular ETS carpet with the layout being very technical and pretty narrow at places. Viktor Wilck would come into groove quickly and he took the overall TQ in the Touring Modified class from Marcus van Elling and Fabian Vernersson in second and third respectively. In the final Viktor made a clean sweep to take the overall win while behind him, Marcus and Fabian battled it out for the runner-up spot. Fabian would get second in the opening final and he was on the 2 spot in the second final until he had a crash with back markers on the last laps. In the deciding final Marcus would take the second place to secure the overall runner-up spot while Fabian showed improving performance and finished on a well deserved third place.

Rivkin cruises to A1 win at JConcepts Finals (2WD)

Top Qualifier Spencer Rivkin cruised to an unchallenged win in the opening A-Main of 2WD Mod Buggy at the JConcepts INS in North Carolina, heading an Associated 1-2 ahead of his team-manager Brent Thielke.  The World Champion got a huge break when a first lap pile-up behind him left second place qualifier Jared Tebo eight at the end of the opening lap.  While Tebo would work his way back to the front, Thielke made his B6 wide with the pairing connecting numerous times but he would hold on for second with Tebo right on his rear wing with Rivkin’s winning margin 6.5 seconds.

Tebo takes easy A1 win (4WD)

Jared Tebo took an easy win in the opening 4WD A-Main at the JConcepts Indoor National Series Finals at Speed RC.  The Kyosho driver was left to take a Sunday drive after just four laps when his main rival Spencer Rivkin had a moment which dropped the No.2 starter back to third behind Associated team-mate Damion Borkowicz. Borkowicz would later have a moment of his own allowing Rivkin back through to second while all the time Tebo was pulling off into the distance.  Winning by over 8-seconds on the 16-second lap, Tebo headed a Top 6 that finished up as they started.

Balint Rajki teams up with Xray

Xray have announced the signing of Hungarian Formula champion, Balint Rajki to their team. The former ETS Stock, Hungarian 1/10th 200mm Nitro, and HPI Nitro Stock European and World Champion will focus on electric touring car and formula racing at all major electric on-road events including the ETS and he has the following to say:

I’m very happy to announce and also feel honoured to be able to join the Xray factory team. I have been following the formula project since the beginning and I truly believe that the X1 car is the best car at the moment so far and I’m sure it will remain the same. Besides the X1 I will also race T4 cars in our National Championship, ETS and some XRS races. I had been basically racing  the past 10 years with one brand, but now I feel that this is the right brand to join with having all the different cars I had raced before and also planning to race in the future. I would like to thank Jan Ratheisky and the Hudy family for the opportunity, I will do my best. I also would like to say Thank You to Modell & Hobby and Arpad Kocsis for supporting me with cars over the past years.

Rivkin secures 2WD TQ in North Carolina

Spencer Rivkin has wrapped up an early overall TQ at the JConcepts Indoor National Series Finals making it 2 from 2 in the second of the three rounds of 2WD Mod Buggy qualifying at Speed RC in North Carolina. The Team Associated driver topped Q2 by 1.7-seconds from Daimon Borkowicz as his main expected challenger for the overall TQ Jared Tebo had his run hampered by a slower car. Crashing as a result of hitting the almost stationary Serpent of Will McIver, Tebo would recover to claim third just ahead of Brent Thielke and Alex Kosciusze with JConcepts very own Jason Ruona completing the Top 6.

Tebo 4WD Top Qualifier at JConcepts INS Finals

Jared Tebo is the 4WD Buggy Top Qualifier at the JConcepts Indoor Nationals Series Finals.  His first appearance in the series this season, the Kyosho driver claimed pole for tomorrow’s final with a repeat TQ run in the second of the three qualifiers. Unlike the morning’s opening qualifying, Tebo took the second round by simply out driving his rivals, ending it with a new fastest lap as the only driver to run a 15-second lap of the Speed RC track.  Having broke in Q1, while Spencer Rivkin would get a P2 for the round it was clear he has work to do as he finished over 8-seconds off Tebo’s pace.  As he did in the first qualifier Alex Kosciuszek would again complete the Top 3 ahead of Associated team-mate Damon Borkowicz, a last lap crash preventing Borkowicz from repeating his morning’s P2 result.

Spencer Rivkin has TQ’d the opening 2WD Buggy qualifier at the finals of the JConcepts Indoor National Series.  The series’ first visit to North Carolina, Rivkin was quickest around the Speed RC track outpacing Tebo by half a second.  Having assumed the TQ pace after a spin by Rivkin four laps in, Brent Thielke was looking on target to take the first of the three qualifiers but a mistake on the penultimate lap would drop him to third with Damon Borkowicz and Alex Kosciuszek complete the Top 5.
