RDRP Xray 1/10th Titanium Shock Mounts

Made for Xray’s line of 1/10th scale off-road vehicles are Revolution Design Racing Products’s new titanium shock mounts. The 1-piece mounts are a direct replacement for the kit’s steel parts and they greatly reduce the overall weight thanks to the lightweight titanium material. With the lower weight in one of the highest areas of the vehicles the parts also improve the handling especially in high-bite conditions while allowing for fast and convenient setup changes at the same time. The mounts come in sets of two and they are suitable for both the front and the rear shocks.

Fenix Extra Mile High oil & Black Syrup grease

Fenix Racing have two new chemicals available in the form of the Extra Mile High ball bearing oil and Black Syrup thrust bearing grease. Starting with the oil, the chemical is a genuine aircraft-grade lubricant, usually used in high-speed turbines. The synthetic oil is oxidation and corrosion inhibited and shows great stability in low and high temperatures. It comes in a 10ml bottle with needle applicator for precise application. Also new is the high-grade Moly-based Black Syrup thrust bearing grease. It is ideal for all high-pressure applications and thus not only usable with thrust races but also driveshafts, gears and more. Last but not least comes a 12ml syringe with curved tip that can be filled with your choice of oils or greases. The curved applicator helps to easily rear almost any area of an RC car.

Ryan Lutz wins Pro Nitro Buggy at 2016 Fall Brawl

Ryan Lutz wins Pro Nitro Buggy at 2016 Fall Brawl

The 2016 edition of the popular Fall Brawl race was held this past weekend at Badlands in Myrtle Beach with over 550 entries. The track was very fast overall with lap times dipping to 21 seconds and the surface stayed very smooth. The conditions however were ever changing and the paramount tire choice was the hardest part of the racing. In Pro Nitro Buggy Mugen’s Cole Ogden would take the overall TQ from Tekno RC’s Ryan Lutz. Main day Sunday started at 7am and the program was shortened throughout with shorter mains so the organisers and driver could try to beat the incoming rain. The A-main started and Ryan Lutz crashed after shorting the first double and fell to 9th on the first lap. He quickly moved up to 4th and then both third and second let him by as he came up on them and Lutz set his sights on Ogden who was 5 seconds up. A couple laps later Cole got into a crash and Ryan just moved past him into the lead. Ogden eventually had to come in for a tire change as his was coming unglued so now Ryan worked up a 5 second lead ahead of Noah Dickerson about 7 minutes in and that seemed to be the same cushion for the next 10 minutes as Noah stayed on Ryan’s pace. After the last stop though Ryan suddenly had a 14 second lead and eventually he found himself right behind Noah on the last two laps. Lutz wanted to put him a lap down and he knew Noah wanted to stay on same lap and Dickerson fought him off hard and Lutz couldn’t get past and so Ryan Lutz came home with just under a lap victory from Noah Dickerson (Mugen) second and Griffin Hanna (Serpent) third while top qualifier, Cole Ogden had to settle for fourth overall.

JConcepts B6 laydown gear shield

JConcepts B6 laydown gear shield

Coming through JConcepts’s Shapeways store is the laydown gear shield for the Team Associated B6. The part is a protection device that adds some protection to the spur gear while also shielding the body from unwanted scratches and rubs associated with normal driving use and wear and tear during a typical race outing. The 3D printed part slides directly on the Team Associated transmission case and aligns with the stock geometry. The motor plate installs just over the gear shield and is positioned as normal. The gear shield is protection for the spur gear itself but also protects the low-profile body designs such as the stock Team Associated body and JConcepts S2 body.
