Freddy Südhoff leaves HPI/HB

Freddy Südhoff leaves HPI/HB

Following the recent announcement of Andy Moore and Hiroyuki Kasuya leaving HPI/HB, another high-class driver has declared his contract termination by mutual consent with the Japanese company. Germany’s Freddy Südhoff joined the team back in December 2014 and his departure will only fuel speculations about the current state of HB mother brand HPI. Freddy states:

I would like to take the opportunity to let you know that I have by mutual consent ended my contract with HPI/ HB inc. Sometimes, things change faster then expected and even it was a short time, I truly enjoyed this and it was great to work with some of the biggest names in RC business together. Thanks to the whole HPI crew around the world. You guys taught me a lot! I wish you all the best for the future.

Reds Racing R7 Evoke V3.0 nitro engine

Reds Racing R7 Evoke V3.0 nitro engine

Reds Racing have announced the release of the new R7 Evoke V3.0 Mario Rossi tuned .21 off-road engine. The engine represents the company’s latest high performance offering and it was designed with improved fuel efficiency, performance and reliability in mind. Like the previous lineup, the R7 Evoke is specially aimed at the use on low grip and narrow circuits where the smoother torque curve of the engine can give an advantage. New to the 7-port long-stroke engine is a new combustion camber sealing that helps to keep dirt away from the redesigned internals. Also new are the lightweight crankcase and cooling head, all adding to a lower centre of gravity engine while the tuned crankshaft, made from special carbon steel, comes double balanced and silicone-filled for maximised engine performance. Part of the package is also the Diamond backplate with a special anti-friction hard-coating that reduces the conrod-backplate friction for improved engine efficiency and performance. Rounding out the hand-made, hand-tuned and hand-assembled V3.0 engine are a high-quality, Japanese-made steel front and Swiss-made steel-ceramic rear bearing.

Destiny RX-10S 1/10th touring car kit

Destiny RX-10S 1/10th touring car kit

Following a couple of prototype images, Destiny have released a handful of production kit images of their all-new RX-10S 1/10th touring car kit. At the first glance the car is of a class-standard design with a double deck carbon fibre chassis, different chassis flex options and low-profile big bore shock absorbers. A bit of a difference though are the lower wishbones with honeycomb-shaped reinforcement struts, as well as the rail-type steering and hex adapter design, with the latter two reminding of the design used on a certain Russian touring car. Other features of the RX-10S kit include specially coated spring-steel driveshafts, C-hubs with caster inserts, POM damper pistons, as well as a lightweight composite front spool. It is understood that the first batch of the kit is ready for shipment, meaning the car will hit the stores shortly.
