Ishima Racing, who made their debut at the fair last year, have some new interesting cars on their stands. First up is the upgraded version of their flagship M1.0R, which has been given the big bore treatment, as well as a new upgraded transmission, which we are told is unbreakable.

Toy Fair 2009 – Team Associated

Team Associated SC10

Team Associated are present alongside their parent company Thunder Tiger and taking pride of place on the stand is their all new SC10. Based on the T4 truck platform, and so contains many interchangeable parts, it has been built ver close to scale when compared agains the real CORR series trucks. Expected to come in at a very reasonable price, the car uses some cost effective systems to keep things within budget but what Associated have created is a very capable and very realistic looking car.

Toy Fair 2009 – LRP

LRP Vector 8 X12

LRP are here presenting their wares and most substantial of which is their new brushless system for 1/8th scale. The German company immediately looks to be on to a winner, with their new motor, the Vector 8 X12 coming in at a fraction of the size of the current batch of brushless motors. Based off their World Championship winning X12 platform, and so uses the same internals, the motor features and extended can as well as longer rotor which has also a larger diameter, as is normal to fit the large pinions of 1/8th scale. A video shown on the booth proves that this motor is quick, leaving a gas version of the S8-BX standing on a straight drag race.

Toy Fair 2009 – Motonica

Italian firm Motonica are here showing off their entire new range of cars that incorporates 3 new 1/8th scale chassis’ and their all new 1/10th scale 200mm. First up the 1/8th scale 4wd on road, the P81 has been completely redesigned and only a few parts are left over from its predecessor.

Toy Fair 2009 – Serpent

Dutch brand Serpent are here showing their range of cars which of course includes the new 966 1/8th scale on road chassis. As we knew already the rear end of the car is made completely of aluminium, save the wishbones and uprights, and definitely feels nice and looks well built when in your hands. the front end of the car remains the same and according to team drivers on the stand, the car has proved very successful during early tests, both in Italy and the USA.

GS Racing have their new CLX buggy on show on their stand here in Nuremberg. The new car looks instantly different, with the unique looking body shell that to me looks like it has taken some inspiration from the Hyper 9 and the Losi 8ight shell.

Toy Fair 2009 – Team Losi

Losi 8ight-E 2.0

Horizon Hobby, under the Losi brand were showing off their new 8ight E 2.0 electric powered 1/8th scale buggy. The car, as with the previous 8ight E, is based on their nitro powered version of the buggy. Sporting lightweight shock towers, boots on the transmission, beefier upper suspension links and new chassis plate, the car is identical to the 8ight 2.0, but fitted with their electric conversion kit. Elsewhere on the stand was the 8ight T 2.0, which will see an electric version soon, and of course the Nitro 8ight 2.0 buggy.

Toy Fair 2009 – Tamiya

Tamiya 801X buggy

Tamiya are present here at the fair as ever, showing off their range of plastic models of ‘fun’ products, but amongst all that on the TRF stand is the new Tamiya 801X 1/8th scale buggy. Details are sketchy from staff on the booth, and we can only go on what we saw, but this new buggy is still in the testing phase and features the trend of the moment of having the engine slanted in the car.
