Hot Bodies Cyclone D4 Sport

Hot Bodies Cyclone D4 Sport

Following on from yesterday’s tease shot of the soon to be unveiled Cyclone D4 Sport, the actual car showed up as expected at the Shizuoka hobby show today, however full details and the cars production name are still unknown (to me). The pictures, taken by the people at Team Novi & Yaggy, show a moulded plastic tub version of the car which also appears to be able to take a stick pack, mounted perpendicular to the chassis line. To accommodate this the cars central drive shaft has been raised to get over the pack and the whole drive train is covered in rather attractive moulded plastic. As it seems now, the car looks set to be available as an RTR version but as we find out more, and get better pictures, we will let you know.

Kyosho Inferno MP9 buggy prototype

This strange looking car is in fact the all new Inferno MP9 from Kyosho, the car that the company is confident can defend its World crown in the US this summer. The car, which is obviously still in prototype phase, was shown at this weeks Shizuoka hobby show in Japan, and to cover the parts that they want to keep secret they made this rather cool looking bodyshell. No further details are known, but have a look at the pictures and draw your own conclusions.

Hot Bodies D8 1/8th scale buggy

Hot Bodies have released further information, along with prototype pictures of their all new D8 1/8th scale buggy. “HB continues our 1/8th scale racing tradition with our brand new buggy, the HB D8! The D8 platform was designed entirely in the USA from the ground up with rigorous competition in mind. Vigorous testing by our team of World Class Drivers has proven that the D8 will not only be the fastest car on the track, but the most forgiving as well, capable of excelling in the hands of both novice and factory pilots. If you’re a serious racer with plans to be in the winner’s circle you’ll want to grab yourself a D8, because once they hit the track, you’ll need one to get there.”

Jimmy at oOple has a report on the second round of the BRCA National 1/10th off road series held at Oswestry, that saw Ellis Stafford and XFactory take the TQ in 2WD and the win in both 2WD and 4WD classes. Ellis used the XFactory X6 and X5 squared buggies to take victory – the first for the X6 at UK National level. The battle in both classes was mostly dominated by the same three drivers – Ellis Stafford, Chris Doughty (AE / Atomic Carbon) & Lee Martin (AE).

A. Siegfried wins French 1/8 Nats Rd3

A. Siegfried wins French 1/8 Nats Rd3

The third round of the French 1/8th scale on road Nationals was run last weekend at the Circuit Carole in Aulnay, just outside the city of Paris. In Saturday’s qualifying for the Elite class it was round 2 winner Richard Volta that was top qualifier, running on his favourite track he placed ahead of Adrien Siegfried in 2nd, Romain Picard in 3rd and Nicolas Guillet in 4th. The National class qualifying was headed up by Philippe Cima, just in front of Romain Baehrel in 2nd, while Arnaud Mathieu and Gaeten Fraioli rounded out the top 4. Following the Semi Finals the National class main final was run and despite a stop and go that dropped him down the order, Mugen racer Romain Baehrel could work his way to the front to take the win ahead of Serpent driver Mickaël Tequi in 2nd and another Mugen, belonging to Jérome Berthelot, in 3rd. In the Elite final it was pole man Volta that jumped into the lead early but before his first stop he ran out of fuel which cost him a lap, and which also allowed Siegfried make a break at the head of the pack. Volta did work his way into 2nd position but once more ran out of fuel and his luck continued to elude him as while in 2nd, in the final minutes of the race, he broke a wheel which put him out of the race. Kyosho racer Siegfried took the flag with a commanding 4 lap lead over Kyosho racer Jérôme Papaconstantinos in 2nd, while Serpent driver Jérémy Cardot took the final step on the podium in 3rd.
