RMV Symbio Kyosho STR body

RMV Symbio Kyosho STR body

Last weekend at the NRW-Cup in Dormagen, Thorsten Wedemeyer photographed the Reckward brothers testing this new truggy body shell called the Symbio. Fitted on 2 long wheelbase Kyosho ST-R’s, but suitable for a number of different chassis’, the new body was still being tested by RMV and when completed will look slightly different to those in the pictures. The main stand out feature is the rear air scoops which channel airflow to the rear wing, presumably helping with balance while in flight.

Serpent 720 Evo2 Steering Blocks

Serpent 720 Evo2 Steering Blocks

Serpent have released a new these Evo2 steering blocks for the 720 which are sold in pairs and feature either 0 or 1mm kingpin angle. These new blocks have 1mm more offset compared to the standard versions, which gives the car a more smooth steering style. The 0-degree blocks work well on medium traction surfaces while the 1-degree blocks work better on low to medium level traction surfaces. However if you swap the left and right 1-degree blocks, the car will then work better in high grip tracks, actually reducing the effects of grip roll, while at the same time giving the car smoother, more consistent, cornering.

Bavarian Off-Road Cup Rd8

Bavarian Off-Road Cup Rd8

Last weekend in Kempten saw the 8th round of the Bavarian Off-Road Cup take place under sunny conditions, however with rain during the previous days the track was still wet in the morning. The race was open to hobby and expert level racers and a total of 72 participants showed up on the day with an exciting race expected due to the quick racers all turning the same lap times. Qualifying saw the pole position go to Kyosho driver Uli Probst, and right from the start of the race he could pull away, with only Florian Braun able to stay in touch. It looked to be an easy victory for Uli but just before the end he encountered some problems lapping slower cars and this allowed Florian to pass for the lead and take the win. Uli Probst came home in 2nd with Alois Offner in 3rd, with all drivers on the podium using PMT tyres.
